  1. Men's Ice Hockey NHL 2018 - 2019 National Championship - 3 October 2018 - 12 June 2019 Official Website
  2. when I watch an episode of Criminal Minds (and last night I watched one of those) my sadistic side always comes out bad... and yeah, at the Olympics it's always a furious switching between different tv channels to find what I really want to watch in a specific moment...
  3. I hate this "American" approach to the sport so much... I'd really like to torture to death all those who show such a lack of love for the competition as it is, which to me is the pure essence of sport, the reason I like to watch so many different events, even if there isn't any national/nationalist interest...
  4. Shooting will surely be part of it in 4 years time, if the Championships are hosted in Rome... and probably a few more disciplines (a couple of fighting sports between Judo, Wrestling or Taekwondo, too)...
  5. in Italy they've been a huge success... our public TV broadcasted almost every event, with 2 tv channels covering many hours a day (and 6 streams on theur website covering evrything in full)... and also the tv ratings were getting better and better day by day, always keeping above the average numbers of the tv channel where they were broadcasted (and despite the time of competition was definitely not the best possible for the Italian tv viewers, with swimming finals in the afternoon -in the traditional hottest holiday week of the Summer- and athletics ending always too early -our primetime nowadays is from 21.15/21.30 to 23/23.30). of course the excellent results (except for athletics and gymnastics, even if the junior gymnasts dominated the field both among the girls and the boys, but of course those events were not shown on tv) did help a lot. and because of that, now it comes the worst part of it...it's strongly believed that Italy will host the next edition in 4 years time, thanks to a strong Rome bidding (by the time, the current disaster of a Mayor, Virginia Raggi, would be gone...so, non problem because of that)... a farce like the 2026 Winter Olympics bid wasn't enough...now we have to cope also with this one... God (or whoever has a chance to do it), please...save us!!!
  6. Alessandro Miressi, just a few days after becoming European Champion over the men's 100m Freestyle, earlier today at the National Age Groups Championships improved his PB (48.00, swam in the European Final) and clocked the new Italian Record over the distance in 47.92... new National Record also for Ilaria Bianchi ("only" 4th in Glasgow earlier this week) over the women's 100m Fly with 57.22, which would have given her a medal if clocked in Scotland... as usual, many Italian swimmers improve their best times when it's too late and when it doesn't really count that much...

  9. I hope they will feel so much pressure that they have an epic fail... but I'm afraid of what they could do...a possible sweep is not so unthinkable...

  13. and finally they called it a day... Italy have won the gold medal without racing, the audience have missed one of the highlights of Olympic Sailing at these World Championships... Final Results Mixed Nacra 17 Foiling Gold: Ruggero Tita/Caterina Marianna Banti, 69 pts Silver: Nathan Outteridge/Haylee Outteridge, 70 pts Bronze: Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza Saroli, 72 pts
  14. aaargh!!! it looks that Nacra Medal Race is not gonna happen...wind is just not there... good for Italy, but it would be a real shame if we end the championships without the race that's expected to be the most spectacular of the entire tournament...
  15. sure...that's why I really hope thay won't make it an Olympic event in 2024... if they get to have a decent starting field and more than only 3/4 competitive Nations at the top, OK... otherwise, they should work to develop the discipline in a global way and only after that they could ask to jump into the Olympic schedule...
  16. Italy Colonial Empire? c'mon, man! we only went to Ethiopia and Lybia and it was a poor joke...that idiot with a big fat stomach and no hair (and no brain, more than that) who used to lead our Nation in the first part of the previous Century din't even get that Lybia was rich of oil and natural gas (so, we did never benefit from the only thing that we coud have from those stupid "adventures")... and at that time we never tried to get people from those Countries to ours (slavery in Italy has been cancelled way before the modern era, even if now it's institutional...in the sense that normal working people earn a misery and have almost only constrictions and no rights, but that's just another story)... and nowadays we (as Italian people) can't do anything if many European Nations try to keep all those starving to death Africans coming to Europe within our territory... now we have more than 10% of our population that's not anymore "100% with pure Italian heritage"... what should we do? discriminate those kids who came here as little children (or even those who are born in our Nation) and avoid them to have access to our schools, sports structures and eventually to represent Italy? however, if Poland, Hungary and the other Visengrad Nations adopted a decent and really "European" policy about immigration, today they would also have a bunch of Africans getting them some medals in long distance Athletics races... because every European Nation (also yours) is way richer than those where those people are coming from and they would be a nicer place to live for them... maybe it's sad, maybe not...but that's the pure truth... p.s. the same criteria apply (at least in part) also to Central and North European Countries...but I don't want to make this thread a political one...so, let's stop this thing here, please...and just enjy the races for what they are aand for the show they put on offer...
  17. at least in the women's event there were some more competitive Nations than the men, where the top 8 kiteboarders in the final rankings are all from France or Great Britain (the Russian Denis Taradin, 9th at the end, has been the best outside those 2 Countries)...
  18. Final Results (NON-Olympic Classes) Men's Kiteboard Gold: Nicolas Parlier, 27 pts Silver: Guy Bridge, 31 pts Bronze: Maxime Nocher, 40 pts Women's Kiteboard Gold: Daniela Moroz, 13 pts Silver: Elena Kalinina, 26 pts Bronze: Alexia Fancelli, 40 pts
  19. yes...I'm gonna post the final results in a moment... p.s. it looks that there's a slight delay for Nacra MR because of poor wind...
  20. not so much fun with the men and women's RS:X medal races, as they both were already decided before the start (there was only little battle for silver and bronze) and the poor wind didn't help the show... but now it's time for the grand finale, the most spectacular class (and the closest in terms of ranking, with 3 crews in 3 points before the MR and 6 still theorically in contention -even if only 4 have a real chance to end up on top)... Nacra 17 Foiling medal race comin'up... c'mon, guys! give us some satisfaction in the end...

  23. The Youth World Championship shall include the following Age Groups: i. Youth B: competitors eligible to register for this Age Group shall have been born either 14 or 15 calendar years before the year of the competition. e.g. those competing in the Youth World Championship in 2018 shall have been born in either 2003 or 2004. ii. Youth A: competitors eligible to register for this Age Group shall have been born either 16 or 17 calendar years before the year of the competition. e.g. those competing in the Youth World Championship in 2018 shall have been born in either 2001 or 2002. iii. Juniors: competitors eligible to register for this Age Group shall have been born either 18 or 19 calendar years before the year of the competition. e.g. those competing in the Youth World Championship in 2018 shall have been born in either 1999 or 2000.
  24. hopefully, we're gonna get back to "A"... otherwise I still think that "D" would be the best option... "B" would be very disappointing like this year...and I hope not to see anymore anything like that... "C" is a senseless farce...it makes no sense at all (like for soccer at the Summer Games)...that's definitely the option to stay away from all the time...
