  14. No, it's both the Biathlon and MTB people going to the Moravian Forest Hills and using them for their pleasure...
  15. London 2019: half-way to the end of WS/SLS Stop 1 With the men quarter final and the women semi final, we just reached the final phase of the first Olympic qualifying event of street skateboarding season #1. The Japanese guy, Sora Shirai made the cut from the Open Qualifier to the Semi final. In the women competition, the Brasilian Jhulia Mendes Leal, the youngest skater on the course, won a spot in the final: here we can see the true future of skateboarding. We got a foretaste of what's to come tomorrow, with the quick cut ad thrust of the best tricks by Aori Nishimura and Leticia Bufoni: the two of them were in fact protagonist of a similar tit-for-tat in Rio during the 2018 World Championships. and for the joy of @heywoodu, here are the 8 girls qualified to the Final (there's also a Dutch in it!) 1 Aori NISHIMURA 2 Hayley WILSON 3 Jhulia Rayssa MENDES LEAL 4 Pamela ROSA 5 Leticia BUFONI 6 Candy JACOBS 7 Alexis SABLONE 8 Funa NAKAYAMA women's Semifinals Full Ranking http://www.worldskate.org/skateboarding/results/category/563-london-2019-stop-1-results.html?download=3447:london-2019-semi-final-women-resuls meanwhile, for the joy of @hckosice, here is the men's Semifinal Heats start list (there's also Richard Tury among the top 30) http://www.worldskate.org/component/phocadownload/category/562-world-skate-sls-world-tour-stop-1-program.html?download=3446:semi-final-men-heats men's Quarterfinals Full Ranking http://www.worldskate.org/skateboarding/results/category/563-london-2019-stop-1-results.html?download=3445:london-2019-quarter-final-men-results

  17. wow! sometimes miracles happen! what a day for Bolade Apithy!
  18. nice game (maybe lacking a bit on the physical side) with really unexpected final result... I didn't really think it was possible for Lankinen to keep a clean sheet against the Big red Machine and all of their NHL stars...it was definitely a great performance and a tactical masterpiece by the Finnish coaching staff... in the end, I proved right once again on the Russians...they can build groups of players with loads of talent, but they don't play like a team, they never show that pride...I never see that "fire in their eyes" as it is for many other teams... it's really difficult to win tournaments relying only on being the most skilled players on the ice...sport (and especially team sports) is more than just that...
  19. Grand Prix (Hohhot, CHN) Day #2 Recap A more well spread distribution of Gold medals characterized the second day of action at the Chinese Grand Prix... in the men's division, Hidayat Heydarov went back to back in the -73kg, doubling up the home success a few weeks ago in Baku with today's triumph in Hohhot... meanwhile the reigning World Champion Saeid Mollaei returned on top of the podium after quite a while in the -81kg class... among the women, today's Gold medals went to Martyna Trajdos in the -63kg class and to one of the very few Japanese girls at the start, Saki Niizoe, in the -70kg category... so, at the end of day #2, 3 Nations ( North Korea, South Korea and Japan) share the lead in the medal table with 2 Gold Medals each, followed by Azerbaijan, Germany and Iran with "only" 1 Gold Medal... 20. Men's Individual Sabre (Moscow, RUS) Final Results Gold: Bolade Apithy Silver: Eli Dershwitz Bronze: Luca Curatoli & Max Hartung Semifinals: Dershwitz b. Curatoli 15-12 Apithy b. Hartung 15-13 Gold Medal Match: Apithy b. Dershwitz 15-10 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: https://fie.org/competitions/2019/162
  21. nobody...as I always said, get rid of boxing at the Olympic Games... leaving aside the corruption issues, they're not even the best boxers in the world and they don't fight with a format giving fighters a chance to express themselves up to the limit (and it would be impossible to have pro boxers fighting 10 or 12-round matches because of the restricted time the Olympics are stuck with)... so, why still wasting time and money with that? p.s. it's the same with men's football, baseball and any other sports that don't take to the Games the best "personnel" they could... p.p.s. and if we stay strictly in topic and only talk about judging the boxing tournament, I'm pretty sure that they could find some good ref and judge among those of the Pro organizations (and even among those from AIBA), but I'm also convinced that they will never choose those people with a "clean file" instead of those "usual suspects" with certain tendencies to "manage" the outcome of a match not in a 100% fair and neutral point of view...

  24. London 2019 - Ten riders made the cut to the Quarters With the Men Open Qualifiers hold today at the BAYSIXTY6 skate park, the first phase of London stop came to the end. Only 10 men over the 110 skating made the cut to the Quarter Finals and will skate in the Copper Box Arena next Saturday. Sabatino Aracu, World Skate President: "We are really excited to see such a huge response by skaters and national teams attending the Open Qualifiers. Most at all, I'm proud to see that skateboarders from 4 continents made it to the following phases: from our point of view, it's one more proof that we are carrying out a win-to-win strategy. We are helping promoting skateboarding and we are successfully catching on with the youngest generation in countries where skateboarding was not mainstream until the Olympic inclusion". men qualified to Quarter finals 1 Sora SHIRAI 2 Alex MIDLER 3 Jagger EATON 4 Andy ANDERSON 5 Jorge SIMÕES 6 Egor KALDIKOV 7 Joseph GARBACCIO 8 Angelo CARO NARVAEZ 9 Yukito AOKI 10 Benjamin GARCIA Men Open Qualifier Full Ranking http://www.worldskate.org/skateboarding/results/category/563-london-2019-stop-1-results.html?download=3441:19-global-open-mens-results
