  1. Epke Zonderland (gymnastics, very likeable and pleasant Olympic champion, spectacular gymnast) Annemiek van Vleuten (road cycling, she almost died during last Olympic road race when she was on her way to gold, but crashed) Lobke Berkhout (sailing, she retired in 2012, but decided to come back and qualified surprisingly for the Olympics, won already silver and bronze medals)
  2. wins 14:4 against ... although Greece may be not thát good anymore, a very impressive win for the Spanish team
  3. Wow, after all shoulder problems Sharon van Rouwendaal gets an Olympic place, so she can defend her Olympic title from Rio 2016. Last year in European Championships she was superwoman with 3 golds, this time she expected nothing due to her shoulder. Unfortunately Dutch Esmee Vermeulen didn't qualify, but neither did Muller and Bridi . Quite shocking in my opinion!
  4. Well, volleyball (w) would already be a surprise when they qualify for the Olympics. Italy and Turkey are way better at the moment, so personally I don't think it's gonna happen, but hopefully I'm wrong.
  5. Which "help by the refs against Sweden" are you referring to? Well, at least the Dutch qualified for the Olympics!! Well done!!
  6. Netherlands. I think (and hope) something like this ... Archery: 1 medal (men’s team) Athletics: 1 medal (5000 m women) Badminton: - Basketball: - Boxing: - Canoeing slalom: - Canoeing sprint: - Cycling road: 2 medals (women's road race, women's timetrial) Cycling track: 3 medals (men’s team sprint, men's sprint, women’s omnium) BMX: 2 medals Mountainbike: 1 medal (men) Diving: - Equestrian: 1 medal (team jumping) Fencing: - Field hockey: 1 medal (women's team) Football: - Golf: - Rhythmic gymnastics: - Trampoline: - Artistic gymnastics: 1 medal (high bar) Handball: - Judo: 2 medals (-78 women, +100 men) Modern pentathlon: - Rowing: 4 medals (W4-, W4x, LW2-, M4x) Rugby: - Sailing: 3 medals (RSX men, RSX women, Laser Radial women) Shooting: - Swimming: 1 medal (open water men) Synchronized swimming: - Table tennis: - Taekwondo: - Tennis: - Triathlon: - Volleyball: - Beach volleyball: - Water polo: 1 medal (women's team) Weightlifting: - Wrestling: - Suprise medal: 1 Total: 25 medals
  7. Football W 100% Hockey W 95% Hockey M 95% Waterpolo W 80% Baseball M 60% Handball W 50% (too many good players quit) Volleyball W 40% Softball W 40% Basket 3x3 M 20% Basket 3x3 W 20% Waterpolo M 10% Volleyball M 5%
  8. Well deserved win for Netherlands. Never expect a Dutch women's footballteam qualfying for the Olympics! WOW Okay, a little lucky, but on the other hand: has won all 5 matches!
  9. That's a big surprise, but hey ... with a very weak team in their poule, the other three teams will finish in the top 3 and will advance to the next round.
  10. Already a lot of quota for Spain. Felicidades :-) Netherlands only has a few quota in sailing and archery, that's it. But, more to come!
  11. Yeah!! Well deserved for Gaby Bayardo. And nice that Netherlands can compete in the mixed event in Tokio now!
  12. No, Netherlands play against Japan and will definitely lose that match. The semifinalists - in my opinion - will be England, France, Japan and Germany.
  13. Same in Europe for Russia (women). They still have their World Cup points from 2015, therefore they have a very easy group to qualify for the Olympics. Other European countries like Germany, Belgium, Netherlands are way better at this moment, but won't qualify for the Olympics. After this Olympic cycle, Russia still will be in the top 8 or something, just because they will earn at least points from the Olympic games.
  14. Bleh ... France wins the shoot-off. Silver medal for
  15. 4-4 in the men's recurve teamfinal... come on boys!!
  16. I would do so too ... Ridiculous qualification rule ...
  17. C and D are the weaker groups. A/B with France, Norway, Netherlands, Serbia ... wow!!
  18. Group B: France, Denmark, Brazil, Germany, Korea and Australia. Best 3 from each group qualify for the main-round.
  19. Group A: Netherlands with Norway, Serbia, Slovenia, Angola and Cuba.
  20. No,it's unfair as hell. Netherlands will play against Japan in the 2nd round. If they lose, they only played against non-European teams with the result: no Olympic ticket. There should be a seperate tournament with the European countries to decide the Olympic tickets.
  21. The IHF will give Poland a wildcard for the WCh for sure (like last WCh).So nothing to worry about for the Polish fans.
  22. Don't forget Turkey. They already won a silver medal in de VNL last year, have some big talents and the best coach in the world (Guidetti). My prediction: Serbia, Russia and Italy win a quota in the WOQT; Netherlands, Turkey and Germany fight for the last European spot.
  23. qualifies for the Final Round (9-6 win over Spain)
  24. Dutch media claims the opposite. Only when he doesn't participate for the team, he has a chance to qualify through the World Cup. But hopefully you are right!
  25. Epke Zonderland wins on high bar. Now he is the overall leader after three stages (Cottbus/Melbourne/Baku), but presumably Zonderland will participate in the Dutch team at the Worlds in Stuttgart, so no Olympic ticket for him through the World Cup. Still risky to put everything on team qualification for Zonderland, but that's just the way it is. Hopefully Zonderland chooses for his World Cup chances, but that means on the other hand he won't participate at the Worlds in Stuttgart.
