  1. After watching Melanie de Jesus dos Santos' floor routines, I'm baffled at how much overscored she is. It's like they threw the Code of Point out of the window just to score her floor with an unrealistic execution. Her first tumbling pass alone has been credited as worth 0.7, but in every single document regarding execution and attribution of difficulty scores, it is stated that it should be downgraded to 0.5. It might seem like it's not much, but this makes a HUGE difference, especially in the final. I'm disgusted.
  2. With Final Fantasy VII as a PS4 exclusive in early 2020, the PS5 had better have backwards compatibility.
  3. I explained in the thread about general artistic gymnastics. He has a chance to qualify if the results of the next European Championships in men's all around are exactly the same as the ones this year (I mean, if Marios Georgiou finishes as the best or second best non-qualified athlete).
  4. Unbelievable. Congratulations, Italy!
  5. Now that qualification through the World Championships is finished, the next events that offer Olympic quotas are continental championships and the World Cup series. Depending on the results of these events, gymnasts who are waiting for a reallocation spot to qualify through the World Championships might have a chance. I'll try to list the possibilities. Men's artistic gymnastics: I believe that if we have any changes at all, it could only be Marios Georgiou qualifying through the European Championships, what would allow Jessen David to qualify through the World Championships; or maybe, though veeery unlikely, Andrey Likhovitskiy qualifying in an apparatus through the World Cup series, what would allow Tomas Gonzalez to qualify. However, Gonzalez has a decent chance of qualifying through the continental championships, so Andrei Muntean would be next in line. Women's artistic gymnastics: On the women's side, there's just a very small chance of Chusovitina competing at the World Cup series and qualifying through vault, but right now she's not even in a top 10 position. She is known to participate in many World Cup events, though, so she might try to qualify through the World Cup series despite already securing an Olympic quota through the World Championships. Either way, if she decides to do this, Ryan Megan would be able to qualify. Extremely unlikely to happen, though. I honestly don't think any of these things will happen, though.
  6. Singapore's gymnastics federation also posted on Facebook that their gymnast could qualify. She has secured a quota, but they still can't figure this out on their own! The only reason FIG has not confirmed reallocation quotas yet is because they are waiting for the results of the World Cup series and continental championships.
  7. Do you mean getting a quota thanks to reallocation of the tripartite invitation? Very unlikely. According to the results of the World Cup series so far, no one from the reallocation list is currently in a position to qualify in any apparatus. I don't believe that any gymnast who has been reallocated so far has a chance to secure a quota through the all-around World Cup series or through the continental championships, either. This means that, in theory, she needs to hope for someone either getting injured or giving up their quota. I'm not sure South Africa will confirm Rooskrantz's quota. They are very strict in their criteria for allowing athletes to participate at the Olympic Games, and she might not have done enough according to SA's Olympic Committee, but we shall see.
  8. There's no way Kuwait would be chosen. Monaco was selected for the 2016 Olympics, so Matvei Petrov has the best chance, I guess. It was nice for him to switch nationality and keep going. This could pay off for Maria Kharenkova too, who now competes for Georgia and is currently second reserve in the all-around.
  9. Any word on who is eligible for tripartite quotas? One blog stated that and are on the run in women's events. No info about which nations are eligible in men's events.
  10. Oh, this is unpredictable. and are very closely together. Even is one of them does not qualify now, he will probably qualify through the World Cup.
  11. I'm afraid I couldn't understand. You can write in French if you want in a private message.
  12. Not sure. I have to read the qualification document again. I was under the impression that 3 quotas is the maximum a NOC that has not qualified a team could get, but yesterday I read it again and I believe 7 is the maximum number of quotas, not 3. I'll have to check it again.
  13. Yes! So Sofus Heggemsnes has qualified! Yaaaay!
  14. Olympic qualifiers: Team: (qualified in 2018), Qualified through the event finals: FX: Artem Dolgopyat PH: Rhys McClenagham, Cyril Tommasone SR: 3 gymnasts ( can qualify) VT: Shek Wai Hung, Le Thanh Tung, Marian Dragulescu PB: Ahmet Onder HB: Tin Srbic, Tyson Bull Qualified through the all-around: Carlos Yulo Manrique Larduet Ludovico Edalli Milad Karimi Loris Frasca Robert Tvorogal Alexander Shatilov Ferhat Arican Artur Davtyan David Huddleston Bart Deurloo Daniel Corral Qualified through reallocation of quotas: Rene Cournoyer Rasuljon Abdurakhimov Marios Georgiou Ivan Tikhonov David Rumbutis Andrey Likhovitskiy Sofus Heggemsnes
  15. South Korea slightly outscored Italy after 2 apparatus.
  16. Olympic hopefuls after subdivision 6/8 (assuming Germany can potentially qualify a team):Team: Apparatus:FX: PH: SR: VT: PB: HB: AA: Reallocations: (if not qualified on vault) It looks like every country from Cuba to Cyprus will qualify either through all-around or reallocation. Azerbaijan, Belarus and Norway should be fine too. Vietnam's gymnast has put himself in a complicated situation now. I was sure he would qualify, but with strong contenders still to come from Armenia and Dominican Republic on vault, his Olympic quota might be on the line now.
  17. Olympic hopefuls after subdivision 5/8 (assuming Germany can potentially qualify a team): Team: Apparatus: FX: PH: SR: VT: PB: AA: Reallocations:
  18. With and to come, it's hard. France absolutely needs one of these teams to screw up, and both and cannot score more than France either. And of course there's which is already qualified.
  19. Nothing but disappointment today with and . At least Lithuania should qualify through the all-around. Mexico and Canada have probably done enough to qualify through the all-around too, but we shall see. Good news for Italy so far.
  20. Sorry, I totally missed this. His routine was fantastic and he deserves to be in the final. I don't think there are many gymnasts who could come close to Lodadio's score. De Luna (MEX), Radivilov (UKR), Howard (USA) and Tovmasyan (ARM) are the only ones with realistic chances, unless there's a big surprise (especially from Japan). Scores are usually very fair in men's events. Turkey received very high marks in some events despite taking part in initial subdivisions too. The "problem" is that the level is too close in men's gymnastics, unlike women's gymnastics where a handful of nations dominate the events.
  21. Olympic hopefuls after subdivision 4/8:Team: Apparatus: Floor: Artem Dolgopyat Milad Karimi (and Nicolau Mir if Spain doesn't qualify a team) Pommel horse: Rhys McClenaghan (and Cyril Tommasone if France doesn't qualify a team) Still rings: Ibrahim Çolak Eleftherios Petrounias (and Samir Ait Said if France doesn't qualify a team, Marco Lodadio if Italy doesn't qualify a team) Vault: Le Thanh Tung Parallel bars: Ahmet Onder (and Ferhat Arican if he doesn't qualify through the all-around) Horizontal bar: Slight chances for Nicollo Mozzato and Carlo Macchini, but I believe they will drop out of the final by tomorrow. All-around (I'll consider that Germany and Spain will qualify a team; otherwise, they qualify individuals 1 and 2 here): Manrique Larduet Ludovico Edalli Milad Karimi Loris Frasca Alexander Shatilov Ferhat Arican David Huddleston Ivan Tikhonov Andrey Likhovitskiy Sofus Heggemsnes David Jessen Tomas Gonzalez Up for reallocation spots: Lee Thanh Tung (currently also second on vault, so he could qualify through the apparatus final if he fails to qualify through the all-around) Santiago Mayol Vinzenz Hoeck Andres Martinez Nikolaos Iliopoulos Ryan Sheppard
  22. Up to three. 1) Frasca will probably qualify through the all-around. 2) Ait Said (still rings) must finish in the top 3 among nations that did not qualify a team. So far we have Turkey, Greece and probably Italy in the final; if Italy doesn't qualify a team, that makes 4 eligible gymnasts ( Ait Said, Çolak, Petrounias and Lodadio) for 3 quotas. And tomorrow we'll probably have qualifying for the final, what makes it even more confusing. 3) Tommasone could qualify through the pommel horse, if he makes it to the final (he's currently 4th). Once again, we should worry about nations without a qualified team, and is already one of them. Probably or or even could qualify and make things confusing too.
  23. It is expect that and will finish ahead of Brazil. Then there's and with good teams too, and maybe all of them could sneak ahead of Germany. I would say that even has a small chance of qualifying, but definitely not . As it is, only and are in safe positions for qualifying, though I believe should not worry too much either. Not so sure about , though.
  24. I expect 6-10 extra quotas after reallocation, but it would be easier for him to qualify through the event finals if all-around scores keep rising like this. You're right.
