With both players ranking going down, now it is looking almost impossible for India to qualify for men TT team competition for Rio2016.

They say if nobody can obtain direct qualification than each NOC can sent one athlete per gender. But in last Olympics India sent only one male swimmer, none from female. Why? Did we surendered one place last time?

Yes i think we may reach 110-120. 86 already confirmed, 4 in tennis & 3 in golf also almost confirmed. 1-2 each in judo & swimming almost certain. We may obtain 5 in boxing & wrestling together. And with many here predicting 10-15 more in athletics, so 110-115 mark looks like certainty...

BWF has released the official rankings of 05/05/2016. Congratulations, BWF has released the rankings today and it is official now that in Rio2016, India is sending its largest contingent ever. Till now our 86 players has qualified for Olympics2016.

It means we have very good chance of getting 15 more quota places in athletics itself. It will take up athletics players qualification quota upto 33, more than Hockey. It will be very good achievement of Indian Athletics. Moreover we can hope of 110-120 Indian players taking part in Olympics.

Dear freinds be ready to celebrate India's new record that will be created anytime now today, with morethan 90 days to go for rio2016, once bwf official ranking for rio qualification will be out, it will become offical that India will be sending its largest contingent in Olympics... Chak de India...

So go by the recent performance in athletics, can we hope for atleast 4-5 more quota in rio? If we add 4x400 women relay than can it be 8-10?

Is their any hope for Indian women 4x400 relay team to qualify for Rio2016?

History will be created on 5th May 2016, when BWF will release its final ranking for Rio qualification. Through that list, India is set to add 7 more on its list of players qualify for Rio. It will take our tally of qualified players upto 86, 3 more than last Olympics (which is our all time best). With 4 in tennis (a pair each in man & women double) & 3 in golf (2 in men & 1 in women) is almost sure, and 1-2 from Judo & swimming, it is taking our delegates tally to 95-97. We can hope for 2-3 more quotas in wrestling, 3-4 in boxing & 3-5 in Athletics. We hope for 2 in Archery (men team event) & 1 in table tennis (men team event). So we may get it around 109-112 players qualified for Rio Olympics. Which will be a big psychological barrier, that our sports person will cross. I hope three digit delegates will bring medals in two digit.
