  1. This Paralympics has been quality so far
  2. More4 is getting on my nerves now. Show live sport please. (Yes, I know it as available on YouTube)
  3. And WRs being smashed all over. Van Gass got one without even getting a medal
  4. Both breaking WR and will race for gold in the C3 3000m Ind. Pursuit
  5. @TeamGBThe table tennis semi finals are also medal events, because (as just happened) you get a bronze for losing
  6. broadcaster Channel 4 has two channels, plus streams on YouTube
  7. Guaranteed medal for Schrager in cycling
  8. This has been a pretty exciting start to the day, wasn't at all expecting the blowout over
  9. Where do you actually find all the streams
  10. During the OC the commentator said that they have 'everything live'
  11. I must say, for tennis, the call for Murray's games seemed a bit pitiful
  12. I guess they are thinking most people will not be like us, nerds to one sport in particular or turbo nerds with spreadsheets and results systems In that way, I preferred them as a 'general audience' viewing but even my friend who is more normal than me (!) but is an athletics fan was getting very annoyed
  13. I felt like writing a thing or two about the non-sports side: The kits felt like a downgrade on Tokyo by a big stretch. The Tokyo ones had plenty of red, white, and blue and I liked the flag theme. I also liked the big GB on Rio 2016 though. These were just one solid colour and in equal parts classy and boring. The television coverage was... pretty okay. On the BBC side, it started with JJ Chalmers and Jeanette Kwakye who was added since Tokyo 2020. I thought Chalmers was better on his own for the early shift and the two didn't have chemistry. When they were together, I liked Kwakye more, although I'm not sure they had the same enthusiasm as the others. Hazel Irvine remains an absolute star and she took the afternoon slot, her sports knowledge is ridiculous. Clare Balding took the evening slot. Athletics had its own designated team presented by Gabby Logan, with Jessica Ennis-Hill, Michael Johnson and Denise Lewis. Johnson and Logan could have been there on their own without anyone missing the other two to be honest. I also think they really dropped the ball with the field events. A lot more should have been shown live. Balding I think captured the excitement average people would have for the Olympics pretty well, and I really liked Mark Foster and Becky Adlington on swimming. Other important analysts included Chris Hoy and Laura Kenny for cycling, as well as Matthew Pinsent for Rowing, and I liked Hoy especially. There was also a red button stream which I think got things pretty correct, it was rare that a GB medal chance or big event wasn't being shown on at least one of them. The commentary was generally quite good whenever they had a BBC one and not a world feed one, with Steve Cram, Andrew Cotter, Adrian Moorhouse, Simon Brotherton and others. A big loss from Tokyo 2020 was Lutalo Muhammad who I thought was very good. Isa Guha and Mark Chapman did the highlights show and from what I recall they were quite good although I hardly watched it. The ceremonies were presented by Balding with Irvine and Cotter doing a good job on commentary. Eurosport also was pretty good although I watched far less of their studio stuff, which they barely did, a big loss in my book because it ties the Olympics together instead of just being a collection of sports. They did have a show, Bonsoir Paris, presented by Laura Woods which I saw a bit of but I was mostly Olympicsed out by then. However, their unfussy way of picking whatever sport you wanted was still good, especially with the BBC's defiencies on certain sports, especially athletics field events.
  14. Yes but I'm biased because I like baseball
  15. Mostly it's fine. I think Artistic swimming will probably move to a men's event. I wish baseball and softball were four tournaments instead of two. Women's baseball certainly deserves a spot. Boxing needs to change points system. Cricket should just be a part of the Olympic programme. With football I wish they just made men's football serious but right now it can be cut to twelve. Fencing, shooting and archery's high event total is dubious, especially archery. I don't really see what skill it tests being specifically in a team (unlike say tennis where doubles is very different to singles). All the added sports are worth it in my view
  16. Speed 200m 100m Freestyle Cycling Sprint Endurance 5,000m 800m Freestyle Biathlon Precision Shooting 10m Air Rifle Archery Curling Strength Weightlifting Shot Put Intelligence Chess boxing Fearlessness BMX Freestyle Ski Jump Skeleton
  17. There is talk of counting the Natives as its own thing, even Joe Biden said they should be allowed to. They were at the World Games in Birmingham, AL in 2022 (yes there were two Birmingham 2022s), and Ireland had to give up their spot for them I actually have played with some women's baseball players. I kinda think that women's baseball and women's softball would have been better because I doubt the MLB will allow its players to be released (in fact I'm not even sure NBP/KBO will)
  18. Unfortunately you have missed out on a medal and the funding is in danger. I'm just saying what I've been told
  19. Hello, welcome to Team GB Debrief, a chance for us to yammer, unfortunately, in the past tense, about Team GB at the Paris Olympics. 20. will be there, I was thinking more countries like , ,
  21. I didn't mean 'temperature' literally, sorry I mostly meant like the 'heat' of the 'Cold War 2' we are currently going through
  22. I wondered to myself today, whether by 2028 the global temperature would have rose enough for a boycott
  23. I will definitely be a complete addict during things like World Athletics, European Games, Commonwealth Games, World Games, and then completely ignore it otherwise
  24. The BBC commentators joked about Fencing, 1976 hahaha
