  1. ESP has 7 (!) streams for the artistic gymnastics, and it says NOWHERE which one covers what. You literally have to open each one to find out. This is a nightmare!
  2. Guyana won, but at least Yee also also delivered the first ever Olympic set for Fiji.
  3. outsprinted to steal the profiteer honor! through to the quarters. go to the semis E/F, DNS.
  4. It appears Rio Rii will be the first direct COVID profiteer of the Olympics.
  5. Early match to watch - Edghill v Yee.
  6. are through to the women's singles sculls quarterfinals. will contest the E/F semifinals. It will be interesting to see who joins Sudan for the F Final.
  7. Rumac je solidan u planinskim etapama i završetak utrke na Suzuki ne bi mu smio biti previše upitan. Što se tiče Čačić, ona se plasirala tako što je pobijedila Latvijku i onda na preglasavanje Turkinju. Najsretnije i najveće iznenađenje kvalikacija. Po meni bez šansi, ali to mi ne smeta.
  8. So the first thing I saw after coming home from work was that amazing pictogram segment. Now I am rewatching the first part and it feels absolutely soulless, especially since I have already seen the pictogram segment. The flag bearers are mostly wooden and the procession looks expectedly forced. Plenty of smaller countries have one relatively successful athlete (for their standards) as a flag-bearer, who is then joined by some random swimming universality athlete, because well, they are of different gender and that makes them special. Ugh. I just can't get behind this because gender parity of flag bearers has not been lacking for a very long time now. But most of all, the lack of crowds is making the whole thing look somber.
  9. Cathy Freeman route. Only less organic.
  10. I have to say, Bolero playing during the torch relay conclusion in Japan must be one of the most odd music choices... ever. Kind of surprised Osaka got the honor.
  11. Wow this was fun. Even with that one glitch.
  12. Nothing like coming home, tuning in for the Opening ceremony, and being welcomed with Bach blabbing his mouth. Anyways, is this flag ceremony the first time COVID-19 has been directly referred to during the ceremony?
  13. Or maybe just the fake ones.
  14. Insufferably long speeches. At this point, I have no doubt this man believes he is the master of the universe.
  15. It's officially an unwritten law then. Whenever someone refuses to go as a reserve (like Rowan Willis did here), disaster strikes. Same thing happened with the Dutch dressage in Rio.
  16. I actually ended up liking the venue. Fantastic camera shots from under the bridge. Rowing needs more of that.
  17. Ah-mazing draw for the Netherlands.
  18. Start list (heat draw) is out too. Heats A/E appear to be the easiest. Joao Victor Oliva & Escorial will be first down the center-line.
  19. Not much drama on the horse inspection. Everyone is through except two reserves (husband and wife duo of Carlos Pinto and Isabelle Pinto !), who will re-present tomorrow morning. https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/resOG2020-/pdf/OG2020-/EQU/OG2020-_EQU_C57(D)_EQUODRES--------------INSP000100--.pdf
  20. Love the Dutch boat design.
  21. Germany finishing last in every race they enter (save M1x).
