  1. Is this the first swimming final for Ireland since she-who-must-not-be-named?
  2. Jacoby is from Alaska.
  3. A few photos from the Grand Prix... Cathrine Dufour and Bohemian performing a pirouette The quietest hands - Sabine Schut-Kery riding Sanceo. Yvonne Losos de Muniz made a massive improvement on her Rio performance - 59th -> 22nd Larissa Pauluis honoring her late husband Greg Chris von Martels and Eclips were the most underscored pair in my book
  4. On the sidenote, I'm just glad nobody tried to intentionally share the gold.
  5. Blummenfelt blossomed in Tokyo, one might say.
  6. Something is wrong with this American team. I remember getting excited for the "American" subdivision in Rio. I made space on schedule and it was worth it. This time I gladly bailed after a few meh performances from them.
  7. Qualified for the team final - All individual finalists come from those eight nations as well. Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu was first under the line, 0.3% away from the coveted final.
  8. Kelly Layne's Samhitas preferred this over a piaffe. 58%.
  9. And one other thing, while Van Vleuten was chasing solo (50-30 km), the gap to Kiesenhofer was barely narrowing. It narrowed for like 30 seconds during all that time.
  10. Before her fall? There is a video evidence of her asking the cameraman for time gaps.
  11. Unfortunately, Adrienne Lyle's Salvino is looking uneven as we speak. Watch out for the judge possibly ringing the bell at the final extension.
  12. Some great commentating on the OBS from Lucinda Green. Cassoe Kruth impresses with 76.677%.
  13. Blowout for Lindsay Kellock. Cheap mistakes all over.
  14. If so, it's still not unprecedented, as the same thing already happened with Jennie Longo in 1992.
  15. Another bad score for Spain. I think their coach really messed here, starting with the selection cycle, preparations and so on. Disappointing.
  16. My favorite moment of the Games bar none. I doubt I will get as emotionally involved for any other (non-Croatian) medalist. Anna Kiesenhofer
  17. First cycling gold for Austria since Adolf Schmal won the Men's 12 hour race at the 1896 Summer Olympics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycling_at_the_1896_Summer_Olympics_–_Men's_12_hour_race
  18. Competition has started. But the stream has not. Wonderful.
  19. Apparently this could be the first cycling medal for Austria since Athens 1896.
  20. Are we really going to have Shapira and Plichta on the podium as well? Shapira is a pretty decent time trialist.
  21. This is random and brilliant. Back when I was collecting info for team sizes/selections, I read from the Austrian NOC page that Anna Kiesenhofer got selected after winning Olympic trials at some mountainous course. I was like: "Austria has Olympic trials for the women's road race? Good on them!"
  22. Why on earth is Moolman leading the chase? What's in it for her? Meanwhile the four Dutch are riding as if their system suffered a critical error.
  23. Well, obviously I am cheering for Anna Kaisenhofer (according to the commentators) as well.
  24. Looks like no redemption for Annemiek van Froome.
