  1. Marina Dujmović had some "health issues", that's all that our sailing federation said on that matter.
  2. Mavzuna Chorieva of Tajikistan, unless she pulls out something amazing at the World Championships.
  3. Looks like some of the classes were already divided to gold and silver fleets yesterday. This means that only a few nations have a chance for quotas now. Men's Laser - are in gold fleet, everyone else out (Moldova ) Women's Laser Radial - are in gold fleet Men's 470 - are in gold fleet Women's 470 - are in gold fleet Men's 49er - only is in gold fleet meaning that they secured the quota Men's RS:X - are in gold fleet meaning that Croatia and Czech Republic should be unofficially qualified Women's RS:X - no one is in gold fleet so the battle continues in silver fleet among
  4. After day 2... EUROPE Men's 470 - (Italy and Ukraine right behind) Women's 470 - (followed by Turkey and Finland) Men's 49er - (Russia is 30 penalties behind) Women's 49er FX - (with a nice lead over Austria) Men's Finn - (with Portugal, Czech Republic, Russia and Turkey being right behind) Men's Laser - (followed by Slovenia, Greece and Ukraine) Women's Laser Radial - (Portugal, is right behind, followed by Russia, Germany and Poland) Mixed Nacra 17 - (Norway is right behind, Sweden, Russia and Portugal have a chance too) Men's RS:X - (officially) and (unofficially, Sweden is a long way back) Women's RS:X (followed by Sweden, others have no chance) AFRICA Men's Finn - (with a 56 points lead over Tunisia, who is currently in 74th and last place) Mixed Nacra 17 - (they actually competed today after skipping all yesterday's races)
  5. Sadly, it looks like Tajikistan is one of those small countries that is really struggling in Rio qualifications (along with Costa Rica for example...). They lost their London 2012 bronze medalist Chorieva today and their only remaining chance here is Qurbonov in -91kg... At the moment they still have only 1 athlete qualified (men's hammer throw) and it looks as though they will really struggle to come anywhere near the number of 16 athletes, which they had in 2012.
  6. These are the Olympic standings after day 1... EUROPE Men's 470 - (Italy is right behind, Ukraine is within striking distance while everyone else is already some way behind) Women's 470 - (followed by Israel, Italy and Greece) Men's 49er - (some way in front of Netherlands, Greece and Russia) Women's 49er FX - (just ahead of Finland and Estonia, all other Olympic candidates didn't compete on day 1!) Men's Finn - (followed by Czech Republic, Turkey and Ireland, others long way behind) Men's Laser - (Ukraine is close, followed by Greece and Czech Republic) Women's Laser Radial - (followed by Poland and Portugal) Mixed Nacra 17 - (followed by Portugal, Russia and Greece) Men's RS:X - (officially) or (unofficially, with others being some way behind) Women's RS:X - (with a very big advantage over Sweden)

  8. Officially they are not qualified, but unofficially they should be. Anyway, even if they are not, the things are looking good there. Czech sailor probably outdone himself on day 1... We also have Fantela who is a very good "back-up".
  9. Tunisia didn't compete in Nacra 17 today. They had DNC in all of the races. So, I wonder, will they be still qualified even if they have DNC in all races? That seems to be the flaw of sailing competition system, you get your ranking and you get your penalty points even if you don't compete in a single race! Meanwhile, looks like Julie of Seychelles is dominating Esseghir of Tunisia in Finn. He has around 40 penalties of advantage after two races! But, something still seems weird here. Apparently, almost half of the field in women's 49er FX had DNC in the first race (and that includes our contenders for Olympic qualification Ninčević/Dujmović!! ).
  10. It's so sad when someone literally has to die for a change to happen...
  11. Yeah, but the question is whether the times also change nationality. Wesh was American when he achieved Olympic standard.
  12. Gorša is more successful than Đurković. Đurković is only good in prone, Gorša is very good in air rifle and 3 positions.
  13. AUS/NZL will finish in top-24 so Oceanian quotas will be reallocated. One to Guam and another one to rankings because there is no other Oceanian nation. So it will be top-25 in the rankings.
  14. It is official. We will not trade place. Our policy in shooting has always been that athletes that have earned the quota themselves are selected for Olympics.
  15. It's so weird that some Belgian cycling wrote "RIP" on his twitter then.
  16. Looks like Egypt pulled out of Nacra 17 regatta, meaning that Tunisia takes African quota by default.
  17. Yes, that's the perk of being a host to AIBA competitions.
  18. Looks like this will be our shooting team in Rio (and disciplines). Petar Gorša (men's 10m air rifle, men's 50m 3 positions, men's 50m prone) Giovanni Cernogoraz (men's trap) Josip Glasnović (men's trap) Snježana Pejčić (women's 10m air rifle, women's 50m 3 positions) Valentina Gustin (women's 10m air rifle) Tanja Perec (women's 50m 3 positions) Marija Marović (women's 10m air pistol, women's 25m pistol) So, 7 shooters in 8 disciplines. I'm quite pleased with them (biggest team ever, surpassed 5 from London). Also, we qualify in a pistol event for the first time since 2004 what is great.
  19. Looks like Guam has pretty much secured a quota in men's mountain bike. Their cyclist is one of the 12 that competed at Oceanian championships. Still waiting for results, but all he needed is to finish the race (what would give Guam ranking points). He can get UCI points even if he gets lapped. And Guam is going to be represented by... Dr. Peter Lombard. That must be the first doctor ever that will compete in mountain bike at the Olympics! He is actually an eye doctor. This is his latest post on Facebook page.
  20. No, host quotas are there only in case if the host fail to qualify anyone.
  21. That's actually quite a promising start.
