  1. Congratulations to you! Question, On US TV, they said a challenge was put in on Andrate's floor score, it was raised, but it did not change the final outcome. I can't find any indication of that. Was this mentioned on Brazillian TV? From what I can see, there was a 0.4 deduction for the OOBs.
  2. If it's a shooter you want, then as of now it should be Kim Rhode. I was glad to see her be the flower presenter last night in tthe women's skeet.
  3. No US network covering Women's foil gold medal match live.
  4. Gammoudi created an upset in 1964, but he was upset by an even greater upset.
  5. Even though the Americans are slightly faster this year in 400IM, I still would not bet against her in that race. For us, I don't look at predictions, but I saw today 1 forecast has US for 96 medals, another, the AP has 137. I think 96 more likely.
  6. Is that a surprise to you? It will also be live and free in the USA and Canada.
  7. The way she went from gold to silver in an instant in 2012 is still for me one of the most heartbreaking Olympic finishes ever. I'm happy to see her carrying the flag.
  8. Took me a few minute to figure out the top left corner graphic for baserunners, but, yes, I'm a fan as well.
  9. Sorry you have to work, I was able to take off, so for me its 10AM to 6PM sleep.
  10. The Koenigsee luge/bobsled/skeleton track just being destroyed might have some impact on when/if Munich might bid.
  11. Funny. There is already a lot of speculation as to the legitacy and whether European Athletics will ratify the mark. From what I've seen, there is questions as to whether the wind reading (+1.9) was accurate, or if done correctly. Also, the blocks apparently were not equipped with false start sensors and videos seem to suggest a rolling start. Finally, no one was at the start line to even judge the start.
  12. These numbers can always be explained by the fact that in the USA, far more women than men are casual Olympic viewers in the evening hours, and they like those sports the best, and NBC obliges them. Same goes for figure skating in the Winter Games.
  13. Alex Wilson 100m 9.84 ER and 200m 19.89 at Georgia Games, Marietta, GA, USA
  14. Team Sports, where an injury is less likely to be a factor, W Basketball, Softball and Water Polo. Elsewhere, barring injury or a dropped baton, M, W and Mixed 4x400. W do face a strong challenge from Jamaica for gold.
  15. Not looking at others, and trying to be international here, so Women's Team Archery Women's 4x100 FS Relay Katie Ledecky 1500 FS Women Basketball 4x400 Relay, both Mixed and Men (I know, this is 6 total)
  16. My selections and I've been to the latter, a wonderful place to take holiday. Each has 1 bronze in their Olympic history, both in 2000.
  17. For us Americans here, if you have not seen it yet, they have a more detailed broadcast schedule here Olympic Live Streams, TV Listings & Schedule | NBC Olympics
  18. Torri Huske, 100 m butterfly definately fits this. Most don't think she would have come close to qualifying last year, now this year after USA trials, she is within .18 of Sarah Sjostrom's WR.
  19. You're right about that. The excuse you always hear from NBC is they are a commercial network, not a public broadcaster like everyone else, they have to maximize their ratings in prime time to get the most ad revenue they can. The way they maximize ratings is put together a package of events in prime time that women will want to watch. And what better than live swimming and taped gmnastics.
  20. As bad a history as NBC has about holding things to primetime, there still were some great moments I saw live on the 2008 streams. One of the most satifying to watch was actually the first stream I ever saw, the 2008 Women's sabre final, sometime around 6AM Eastern. And it was done without commentary, IIRC. To the best of my memory, they withheld so much from streams, there were probably only 10 events or so streamed where there was a US gold medal. Vancouver as you say was even worse, I think they only streamed hockey and curling. Then The Dick Ebersole Era ended at NBC and things started to improve.
