Though to be fair, it's not a bad federation overall in terms of what they do for nations, their communication skills have room for improvement though
Yeah. I'm half-joking, they seem like a very efficient federation who gets things done. (*most things*)

No, scrap that, I meant "trimester" instead of "semester"
I honestly have no idea, but I guess it's something like the same as it is after 3 trimesters. If they would at least publish this list, we could see how they solve this..
Maybe I'll write to them and ask. But they won't respond. Just to screw with people. Because that's what they do. Because they're the IBU.

IBU.... screwing with people since 1993

No, the rules for that say "during the current or preceding semester".
Oh? But 4 trimesters ago would still be the previous semester, no?
It's weird, so if they remove them after 5 trimesters of not competing, but only points 3 trimesters ago count, what would be their IBU points score between 3 and 5?

Sort of
There's one thing I don't get, so are the points only valid for the 3 latest trimesters, or for the 3 latest trimesters that the athlete competed in? Because they only get removed after 5 trimesters not competing, instead of 3. So could someone who scored under 125 four trimesters ago still be considered eligible for the WC, assuming he did not compete in the three trimesters after that?

Sweden was DSQ'ed because of this rule (5.6.e) in the men's relay:
Bruna just told me it was because of the skis (or one of their skis, not sure), so that's a rather amateuristic mistake..
The Koreans were DSQ'ed because they didn't stop after being lapped.
The Slovenians actually got lapped, and Andreja Mali spent a few minutes discussing with the race officials, and then they let her ski to the finish line. Her team had champagne waiting for her, it was her last race ever

After 2 legs top 10 is real, but the other 2 will be much more questionable, top 10 would be great, but I´ll be satisfied even also if the girls will fight exemplarily but will finish aroun 13th place.
Anyway we need a good result to "calm" more our position in the Nations Cup
A top 10 would I guess hinge on Fialkova and Kuzmina going all-out and not losing any ground on the leaders.
Poliakova's a good shot, but she's slow... Nothing to do about that, just damage limitation really. And Ivona needs to shoot well, too. But I do think a good result is possible
Won't be watching the race though have to get up early tomorrow so Good luck!

I have no idea
We should find out at some point.
By the way, how are you feeling about the Slovakian prospects in the women's relay? I personally expect a Top 10. Top 7 would be great.

So 14th finally, Sweden has been disqualified.
Any idea why? Korea was, as well.
-
Well 5th place I'm very happy with. Krcmar amazing as always this season, Moravec and Krupcik did what they could, Slesingr I expected to shoot better but still a good performance.
Also great to see Slovenia doing well, they shot amazingly, and were in the TV broadcast for a lot of the race
Now the women's race... if Charvatova can pull it together, I think we have a shot at victory.

Fourcade wins again

we´ll see, but it´s strange.
anyway Krčmář looks awesome in this seasons start, he is amazing also today so far.
A podium might be possible if we are lucky.
And yeah I'm really impressed. He's becoming very consistent. Remember last year he did 2 penalty loops on the relay.

anyone know why Sweden has this star reminder before their flag ?
Maybe it's a penalization, or a disqualification, or the target malfunctioned and they get a time bonus?

Fantastic shooting by Hasler of Liechtenstein! 0+0+0
No one else even close shootingwise
UPDATE as I say that she misses two. Still a job well done!

ya, but the czechs have still IMO one of the best ever talents in Ester Ledecká, this girl is a jewel.
She is doing amazingly. Especially due to her snowboarding commitments. But Slovakia is outperforming, let's be real

and congrats Zubcic btw
Awesome! He only gets better!
I'm taking Slovakia for my alpine team because we Czechs aren't doing so hot at the moment!

Unfortunately it's often not much of a contest anymore

At the finish, beats and
It's a bit of a shame that Merkushyna is so talented yet is stuck here and the Ukranian team is doing so mediocre in the WC. Germany have a great strategy where they just take people who do well in the IBU Cup and pretty much immediately put them into the WC. And also, if she wasn't racing, the Belgian and Australian would both have qualified for Trimester 2. But she's 50 seconds ahead of everyone, so... yeah.

And he beats the Czechs too, since they didn't send anybody
You have beaten me, it seems. Not least since the Dutch guy is doing decently, too.

is beating so far
Wonder what's happened to Salcedo? She was at the range for about a minute without shooting and then just disappeared. Maybe technical issues?
UPDATE nevermind she just missed 5 and it didn't show up.
-
Just now, heywoodu said:
She absolutely deserves that, she is such a huge talent..
Yeah. Especially since the Ukranian team has 6(!) spots and they did pretty mediocre in the sprint race.
Just now, heywoodu said:is beating so far
It looks like you are winning this round...

Merkushyna is something else. They should just put her in the WC already. Haha.

Qatar apparently has a curling team now which competed at the Mixed Doubles World Champs: http://www.dw.com/en/qatari-curlers-aiming-for-winter-olympics/av-19197290
Think they're just a BIT too optimistic about their prospects.
