  1. Here is the breakdown of the judges' votes for each group stage match.... Group A Group B Group C Group D Group E Group F
  2. I'll post the group stage judging results later today. @Werloc will finally find those elusive judges who voted for Japan!
  3. I also really want to share you the artist that was so very close to being the Costa Rican representative as I love both of these songs: MishCatt - Saturn Eyes MishCatt - Blue Blood
  4. Sorry I'm late everyone! Wow, where to start.... @mrv86 I cannot thank you enough for all you have done to save this contest. This required a huge effort and commitment to organise these knock-out stages and you did it brilliantly and at short notice. Amazing job, I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't stepped forward And thanks to all the other elves who stepped forward and helped out too @Wumo @Vektor and @dcro. Thanks a lot all 3 of you for your help to organise it I really did not think my entry would still be alive so late into the contest and really thought Gibraltar had this final, so thank you all who placed a vote for Costa Rica at any stage of the contest and indeed the final! When I discovered this band, I was delighted to be able to share them here and represent who are sadly absent in this forum. I would love if we could find a Costa Rican user to bring them to TISC for real. Not sure how serious @dcro was about us looking for a user but it's a nice idea even if it might not be possible. I could not vote in this contest but my favourites were and . Thanks to all who participated and let me find some new music and artists that I never heard before! I wasn't sure if anyone would guess Costa Rica was my entry but glad it made some surprises when it was revealed. @EupenM @Vojthas great to see you here in TISC for the first time and would love you to join us for the TISC Open 2020 in the next months. It's always good to have fresh ears and new users to add to our already varied bunch of music lovers. @Sindo thanks so much for your good sport in participating in this special edition. You are more than welcome to join us in the standard TISC editions anytime, it's been a pleasure to have you take part for the first time. And an honourable mention for @Quasit who made a pleasant return to TISC after his many years of service as a neutral observer behind the scenes. Thanks again everyone, looking forward to the next contest in the Netherlands. No pressure @heywoodu
  5. And both Vance Joy and ABBA placed on the podium in the last TISC Open so it still just depends on the song, which is gladly how it should be in a song contest.
  6. Day 10 (Sat 15 August) Fixtures / Results Challenge Semi-Finals Saturday, August 12th 2020, 19:30 (GMT +2) Jamaica 5 vs 8 Belarus Saturday, August 12th 2020, 20:00 (GMT +2) Zambia 5 vs 8 Kosovo Semi-Finals Saturday, August 15th 2020, 21:00 (GMT +2) North Macedonia 4 vs 9 Costa Rica Saturday, August 15th 2020, 21:30 (GMT +2) Côte d'Ivoire 6 vs 7 Gibraltar
  7. Only one other user asked for Japan as their primary choice but another 4 users asked about Japan after their first choice was already reserved or had it in a preferential list.
  8. I like that idea a lot. If the identity of each judge is to revealed during the final it’s probably the best way as it means we have less things for our brain to process
  9. All suggestions sound good to me. Over to @mrv86 then to decide whichever he prefers Leaving a little gap (not too long) between judging reveals then might be good. Gives us time to process the match score and to see the identity of the judge and a little time for speculation or guessing if anyone wants to. And back to the match focus again. But whatever suits for the organiser is absolutely the main thing.
  10. When do you want us to reveal the users behind each song? It will be after the voting closes but at what point would you rather we did it?
  11. 12. I get your point but I'm just stating fact. How can you say it is manufactured when this jury line up has never voted on these 2 songs before? Remember the jurors are shuffled as well as different nations meeting each time. And even if Costa Rica bomb out in the semis now it doesn't mean it's manufactured either . But I do understand your overall point. It is a messy format but it's a fun change at least. And that is the overall aim of this special edition.
  13. Well these 2 songs were in different groups so you cannot say it was an upset for sure because these 2 songs did not meet until now.
  14. I'm up for that but will let the new chief @mrv86 to decide what is possible for him
  15. I'm not sure, just going off the schedule I have so not sure what has been sent out by PM to everyone. As you know, the schedule is constantly being adapted to match the availablitiy of @mrv86 so just keep a look in your PMs and on thread regarding any updates to the schedule.
  16. Here is how the quarter-finals are shaping up. Just a note that the quarter-final matches have been moved to Friday, while the semis have been moved to Saturday.. 18. A User may nominate any Artist to represent their country providing that the Artist is either born in that country or has more association with that country than their place of birth. A Band consisting of members from different countries may be chosen to represent a Country if at least 50% of the band was born in that Country or if that band has more association with that Country than another. Songs must be original to the Artist selected or at least original to that country. Songs which competed at the Eurovision Song Contest are excluded from this competition. If two or more Users from the same Country disagree about which Song should represent them then they will have to find a compromise or failing such compromise, a Random Draw will be conducted to decide which of those Songs will represent their Country in the Contest. Only users from a particular country can choose a song to represent that country. Users can use any National Selection process they wish in order to find a representative. Songs will be Automatically Disqualified from the Final if a User from that Country does not participate in the Final Voting Process. This is to ensure that as much fairness can be attached to the Contest as possible and each country has an equal chance. If in the unlikely event that more than 25 countries will participate in the Contest, then a Semi-Final(s) will take place to ensure that only 25 Songs are represented in the Final. Voting will follow the same format as that used in the Eurovision Song Contest.
