The rules is to choose the any best result of 3 events to compare: 1: 2023 WCH individual event finals and meeting OG standard A 2: 2024 WCH individual event finals and meeting OG standard A 3: 2024 trials individual event finals and meeting OG standard A So based on the past 2023 and 2024 WCH, following swimmers already have eligible results and green parts are almost safe enough to guarantee the tickets before the trials. For relay swimmers, mainly considering trials results.

With defending OG champion Lee/Wang defeated by pair, Liu/Ou secured the OG quota and making with full quotas in Paris. We know she is injured before the match but not sure how serious is. Now it seems she could hardly recover in 3 months. Tough choice for the team now.

Not sure about Women's team because 81kg and 89kg+ are not competed yet. If China win both golds of 81kg and 89kg+, then China will select 59kg, 81kg and 81kg+. But it's just "if", we have to wait the results.

My personal guess Chinese OG men's team: 61kg Li Fabin, 73kg Shi Zhiyong, 102kg Liu Huanhua. There is no too much dispute. The only thing uncertain is the back and shoulder injury status of 73kg Shi Zhiyong and 89kg Li Dayin. If no big progress made before the register deadline, Shi should be selected.

I wouldn't pick this weight either. Li Dayin always lose critical events for many times and this time as usual. And he has 3 main rivals in this weight, ie the other 3 top4 in this world cup. So even if one or two of them underperform in OG, he may still lose the game. But 73kg Shi Zhiyong clearly just has one major rival, the young man. So if he underperform in OG, the 2-time OG defending champion would easily grasp the chance.

What a disaster for Li Dayin and Tian Tao. Can't imagine what they have prepared for in last couple of months.

My personal view. Document just said it's the most important trials for OG without mentioning any quantitive criteria.

For two reasons: 1, For internal fairness. Imagine you are the champion of 59kg left unselected, but your teammate 49kg is merely a silver medalist but selected. You will definitely feel unfair and it’s not good for the team atmosphere. Real champions should always prioritize the selection regardless of rivals’ attendance. 2, You just never know if North Korea will successfully lobby IOC or IWF for a wild card, maybe only one category per gender. I personally think it possible. No one can guarantee anything until the OG begins.

This compulsory world cup will be served as Chinese internal trials. There is no clear quantitive method for trials but I personally sum up as follows. For men's side, whichever 3 categories winning the golds will go to OG, if winning 4 golds or less than 3 golds then comparing the winning/losing margin. For women's side, 81kg and 81kg+ will be (most probably) selected if winning the golds. For 49kg, 59kg and 71kg whichever winning over North Korea will be selected. If no categories or more than 2 categories winning over North Korea, then comparing the winning/losing margin.

There are 3 trials and it all finished. Doha WCH was the last stage and the other two were in 2023. So the quota I mentioned above is the only uncertain one. All other athletes are quite consistent in all 3 stages.

Basically same as the squad in Doha WCH, maybe only one spot uncertain, the second quota of men's 10m platform. It will be given to OG defending champion Cao Yuan who is absent on World Cup or Lian Junjie who has to prove himself on World Cup final.

Most probably he will not get to paris. The reason why he attend world cup is merely OG defending champion Xie Siyi is not eligible to compete due to the absence of last season. The selection of China squad is mostly finished. Wang Zongyuan and Xie siyi will compete individual event. Wang and Long will compete synchro.
