  1. Don't call me out like that dude Honestly, I had a long talk with @OlympicIRL at the start of the contest where I expressed that picking Japan felt like a trap to me. Low and behold it was indeed a trap, should've went with my second choice
  2. I'm not that much into screamo music, but for some odd reason, I liked Hatari's Eurovision performance, which might have been boosted a lot by having a good hook, which I felt that this song lacked a bit. And yes, the video indeed looked very thirsty.
  3. Tbh, I thought I was figured out as Japan by at least someone with how much I usually blabber about other songs
  4. I'm as shocked for @heywoodu Belize @Vojthas just picked upside down Poland It's actually pretty funny how a lot of the forum users that I banter with most are in this first group As for my own pick, I was torn between 10 and more songs, I've even showcased some on Japan day. Am I disappointed about the results? A little. Am I disappointed that I picked that song? It's still a banger on my Japanese Spotify playlist and you won't convince me otherwise Thanks for the 5 or however many votes there were. As one man would have said, you might even call him a best man, you have music culture friends.
  5. I don't expect them to automatically win as much as I don't expect them to lose a direct duel against My Kiribati Lady, it's a double-edged sword
  6. I'd rather keep it out of my mind, thank you. Not really a huge fan of electronic pieces such as that, because that's less of a songwriting work and more of a production based work of music. Good for dancing and clubs if you're into that, bad for my soul
  7. I'm just chilling in my country where I don't have a possibility to send a mainstream song, so I don't need to overthink these things
  8. Well, it's something that I always keep forgetting that happened
  9. Perhaps we will need to implement rules where you can't exceed a certain amount of views on your videos, because it's not fun either way if people can't be objective when something mainstream is sent.
  10. Funny how Kosovo actually won everything after getting blocked from winning anything important.
  11. This is actually an idea that I thought about, so I'm glad that you saved me some typing time with your brain powers
  12. If that Ivoirian song would have reached the final, I might have considered to end myself Thank you Gibraltar for putting an end to that one The vocals were so tuned, it would be a shame to call Dua over-produced compared to that one...
  13. As for the Baltic Team Championships, Lithuania was not able to defend the title this year and Estonia was the winner with 276 points, whilst Lithuania only lost it by 1 point with 275 and Latvia in third with 247
  14. Everybody raise your hands in the air for North Macedonia #RefuseToLose

  16. Hey, if anybody missed some Baltic athletics, today it's the grown ups turn to duke it out between each other. The livestream is in less than 6 hours and tomorrow Day 2 of the competition will follow as well: Some notable athletes starting today: Discus Throw: Ieva Zarankaitė, Zinaida Sendriūtė, Sindija Bukša running 100m, Hans-Christian Hausenberg starting in pole vault as well as men's long jump, Liveta Jasiūnaitė, Lina Mūze and Madara Palameika in the Javelin Throw, Simas Bertašius in 1500m, Edis Matusevičius in Javelin Throw and Modesta Morauskaitė in 400m. Tomorrow you'll be able to watch: Andrius Gudžius and Martin Kupper in the Discus Throw, Modesta Morauskaitė in 400m Hurdles, Adrijus Glebauskas in High Jump, Sindija Bukša in 200m. A few notable names from all three countries are skipping this event due to starting in competitions abroad, some just chose to not participate on their own accord, still, this competition is always interesting even when I don't understand what the commentators are saying
  17. Nah, this special edition didn't feel that special for me and I probably would not want a repeat format of this, because it diminishes the amount of interaction between users when we have to hide which countries we've chosen and the voting is too odd and inconsistent, which means that good songs can easily not get past groups, quarters and so on so on. The only thing that's easier is that I don't need to spend 20+ hours in the span of two weeks to decide what I like and what I don't, but I honestly rather have that than watch how all of my favourite songs drop out of the competition without having a say in that voting phase.
  18. If we're expected to vote tomorrow, then I might be late to send in my votes by an hour or two. Or when should I start getting worried that I'm not getting any new matches to judge?
  19. Oh, seems that I haven't updated that Živilė Vaiciukevičiūtė at the young age of 23 has decided to retire, which might have been caused by a super strict training regime from her coach as the main reason. She was really the next big race-walking star, because in her very short career she already participated in Rio Olympics at the age of 19, won first place in a European Race Walking cup, was an U23 European bronze medalist and placed with 5th in the most recent European Championships. I'd dare say she was a top 5-7 athlete in our team and already had a qualification time for Tokyo as well. Her less successful twin is still continuing, she was always behind Živilė from the very start, still produced some nice times, but then her results started going backwards, whilst Živilė took a minute off her PB in every race that she started and she would hold the Lithuanian race-walking record if not for Brigita Virbalytė-Dimšienė, whom finished 4th in that same European Championships a couple of seconds ahead of her.
  20. I hope they're working behind the scenes to speed up the organisation process so that The Netherlands can greet us early Autumn and I can have some normality back in my TISC life.
  21. The race walking cup in Alytus, Lithuania is going to be one of the key events in this. It already attracted some tough contenders last year since everybody started respecting Lithuanian race-walkers more and being recognised with an EA Permit Meeting status, I'd expect a lot of athletes looking at Lithuania as their opportunity, especially since we've handled Covid pretty well (it's going to shit lately, masks are back in stores and public transport since a week ago or something, but we're still having concerts with a 1000 attendees, so I'd say we're struggling less than some others )
  22. You have only one vote, will you be able to stop this?
  23. Competitive swimming came back to Lithuania as well with a two day competition, unfortunately in a 25m course pool Nothing too out of the ordinary happened, Rapšys and Šidlauskas look in a fairly decent form, Titenis, Teterevkova (won 5 different races though) and Margevičius still have room for improvement. One of the youngsters, Daniil Pancerevas, 2004yob broke four records in the age group of sixteen yo's, 200m Freestyle (lost less than 6 seconds to Rapšys), 50 and 100m Butterfly and 100m medley. A lot of girls born in the 2006-2007s are breaking all of our U14 swimming records as well. Last year it was Silvija Statkevičius (2006) with 200m/400m Freestyle and 200m Backstroke in short course, 200m/400m/800m Freestyle records in long course. Then there's Smiltė Plytnykaitė (2007) getting rid of all of Rūta Meilutytė's age group records in the Breaststroke (which will be extremely interesting to follow her this year and the next, since it was the time when Rūta smashed all of her times and reached a new level as a 14-16 year old. (I think she also holds some Medley records as well, another one of Rūta's specialties) Erika Pasakinskaitė (2006) with a 200m Butterfly record and coming close to 50m,100m as well And in today's competition it's Patricija Geriksonaitė (2007) with a 50m Backstroke record. So yeah, a lot of young girls with potential, we've ruined that before a lot of times (Šeleikaitė won a lot of medals in juniors after Meilutytė's phase, but now she's swimming irrelevant times and swimming a lot of butterfly and freestyle instead of breaststroke, whilst Teterevkova also with a few medals in juniors will have to prove herself in the next few years if she has at least half of what Rūta had). Still, this could perhaps be something.
  24. Good luck to whomever thought it was a good idea to pick Rihanna. And they also should start now, because TISC has rules against new users. Edit: nevermind, misread. I thought that would be the winner's bonus only, not that all members had to commit to that
