  1. I felt literal pain when Vaidotas from the Roop just shuffled through all of the dance moves just to look relevant. I'm honestly getting annoyed by how much they're milking every opportunity. When they released their first post-Eurovision single, they wrote (Eurovision 2022) in parentheses to bait every one that they're participating again, every media outlet was writing about it and when they got their views and trending nr. 1, they just said lol, no we're not participating and changed the title. Also, they got to perform three songs in our national final. After that they released a song where they had green screen costumes on in which they showed Ukrainian people suffering, singing about love just to be relatable to get to trending nr. 1 Then they released their next song one week before Eurovision, again, to milk the time period, because they don't get enough attention any other way, went to multiple Eurovision pre-parties, went to Italy as ambassadors where they were mingling everywhere and trying to overshadow Monika Liu at every step. And of course, he even got to present the votes. Hopefully they won't be able to milk Eurovision for the fourth year in a row, because it's getting ridiculous.
  2. Yeah, you basically just need to hope that they have natural charisma and can be funny unscripted. But still, nothing is ever worse than vote presenters trying to be funny. Only time it worked was JAJA DINGDONG, but still it got ran into the ground.
  3. Petra Mede and Mans Zelmerlow showed us what peak presenting is and it's only been downhill from there
  4. Here to share a couple of thoughts on yesterday's final. Italy were my nr. 1 favourites coming into the competition. Never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine that they would deliver the very worst vocal performance of the entire evening. They were so off-key, it was very painful to watch and to listen. Mahmood butchered every single chorus like it was a piece of cake. Other countries that struggled with vocals a fair bit were: and I don't know if I can put Serbia in here, because that song was like half-talking and I don't even understand what that performance even was, so I'll avoid this topic. My personal top 5 of the night: and special thanks go to Sidenote: did not expect Lithuania to grow on me Am I okay with Ukraine winning? Looking at the statistics, if all those points didn't go to Ukraine, then the winner would've been Spain, so I'll be okay with Ukraine for today Anyways, pretty good average quality of Eurovision this year, there are songs that I don't like, but not that many where I could say that I utterly hate them. Lesson of the day: don't plan huge tours right up to your Eurovision marathon, because you'll end up like Italy (I was surprised there were so many positive comments, because you can literally hear that every single Brividi from Mahmood was a semi-tone if not more lower every time that the backing track joined back in, not to even mention all the other parts that were a semi-tone off)
  5. Nah, I have this feeling that if Ukraine win, then the UK and Germany would just battle it out for hosting rights as they would do in the case of Australia ever winning.
  6. I'd be surprised if SF2 was won by anybody other than Sweden. But what I'll never understand is how and why Serbia this year is considered to have an amazing entry, when it barely qualifies as a song for me with so much tonedeaf talking and the structure of the song is wild to me. The last time I felt so out of touch was when people thought the yodelling+rock Romanian duet was somehow a good song. Eurovision fans baffle me. Like, all the hate that Switzerland is getting this year when it's a legit entry compared to fans praising so many joke songs this year is really making my head spin.
  7. Romania is not a shocking qualifier, I believe WRS has a dedicated fanbase all over the world that are into Romanian pop. Also, really made me wonder what actually happened to Romania, because they nearly had a clean record of qualification, but since 2018 they just couldn't catch a break. Although I think in 2019 they were robbed.
  8. It was a painful day today makes me more sad that Slovenia and Latvia had to miss out on a final for this. It's tough to rank anything below, because I don't really enjoy the songs below the first 10 Also, during the entirety of the contest, Italy was my nr. 1, but Portugal kept growing and growing and it bloomed into something amazing.
  9. The song is written in such a way that the backing vocalists should intimately work together with the lead vocalist, thus the level of sound discrepancy shouldn't be too huge to not hurt the intimate arrangement. BUT, you were right about Maro's voice being drowned out by the backing vocalists, the upper register harmonies were too loud in the mix and there is one of five things that happened: 1. The Portuguese delegation didn't hear that two of the backing vocalists that were singing the higher parts were overwhelmingly louder in the mix when they were in the prep room. 2. Sometimes, everything sounds great in the prep room and you make the post rehearsal adjustments the way that you like, but the sound that's translated to the audience (and especially TV) sounds completely different - thus a possible screw up by the sound engineers. 3. Backing vocalists singing slightly more subdued in the soundcheck room (thus the mix sounds great), during the live performance giving their all and overwhelming the lower harmonies that cannot keep up, because it is easier to sing louder the higher you sing. 4. The distance between the microphone and the vocalist is closer than it was during the soundcheck. 5. The mistake of having every single backing vocalist on the same audio level, because we come back to the problem of easier to sing louder when you sing higher. I think that 2-3% louder volume on Maro's microphone, 3% lower volume on the microphone for the woman that is second if we look from Maro's left and I think that everything should sound perfect.
  10. I'm very late to this, but if I had to pick my top 10 for semi-final 1, it would be: Nearly the entire show was filmed like shit, but the way that Maro from Portugal set up her entrance and closing shots, were really the highlight of the evening.
  11. SERIOUSLY BRO, we fucked Mexico, they didn't deserve this Great Britain and Mexico were 12th and 13th in my scoreboard as well..............
  12. Interesting contest Firstly: congratulations to @Vektor for one of if not the most technically executed contests, it was super easy and entertaining to follow, very smooth grand final. Congratulations to Spain for their first ever win and to Ireland and Great Britain for their continuous success in these contests to land on a podium yet again. Congratulations to our team, we did it @Agger @Wumo @catgamer @Glen I think it's very fun to share this victory with you since our team is pretty much comprised of the OG's that have been with TISC since the very beginning As for Lithuania, well 14th place is not bad, sad we didn't hit the 100 points, many jurors liked the Lithuanian song, but nobody loved it. I thought that I wouldn't enter a Gebrasy song again, but it's nearly three years since I'm working with my new producer and best friend Faustas and I just wanted to showcase something from that part of my life, though the biggest pain was deciding between "Where'd You Wanna Go?" and "Into Your Arms", though I'll never find out which would've been a correct decision We'll continue to release new music and we're already working on a single for Summer, it's going to be in Lithuanian, I gladly invite you to follow our journey, but for TISC, I think I'll much rather prefer to highlight other artists in our music scene.
  13. Wow, first he loses a house, then his sleeping bag and now this happens
  14. I think it's time for me to retire, I'm getting old. For the first time in TISC history, I didn't have the winner anywhere close to the top 20 and before that, I think my worst ranked winner was like 14-15th Don't know how to feel in this new day & age
  15. I swear, the only ones capable to break this record is Lithuania themselves.
  16. Romania trying to resurrect the Lithuanian hopes Thank you @IoNuTzZ for the 8 points!!!
  17. I enjoyed elements of your song this year, it dropped out 18th though, but with 39 songs and a tough competition it's not easy to get into those top 12's :/
  18. Wow. I'm on my TISC playlist and Azerbaijan was just playing and I was thinking about how I really missed their presence at TISC and then your message
  19. I'm one of those that rarely scores India, the last time it happened was the 2017 Open and I can recall two times I nearly scored India as well. My personal irk with most entries from India is the vocal style, not a fan of too much vibrato, but that's just me personally. I can tell you though that I always bother to LISTEN to every entry until I eventually cut them during the other five voting stages to get to my final twelve.
  20. Little did I know at the time, that all of them would fall under impossible
  21. Hang in there, it's just @dcro trying to destroy our hopes and dreams tonight We'll grow from this and comeback stronger in Autumn.
