  1. Oh my god, everyone, he's done it! He saved canoeing sprint. Mixed relays for K4 and C4 as Olympic events and we can delete the single K1 1000 and C1 1000, because it's not fun to row so long without company
  2. Naaaah, this would be even worse. Nearly all of the Lithuanian team were focused on 200m since they were children, upping it to 500m at least gave them the chance to try, with 1000m distances only they'd all probably have to be retired, because European and World Champions are struggling to convert their results to 500m as is. Žustautas holds a WR in 200m C1, Seja world & European champion, Korobov, Navakauskas, Olejnik, Nekrošius, Maldonis, Ramanauskas, Lankas. All of them have many medals from every championship imaginable, not a single one of them is doing the event that they were doing when they won these. Rio De Janeiro bronze medalists Ramanauskas and Lankas couldn't even make the team for the K4 500m, because that became the priority event for every single athlete that still had Olympic dreams to realise.
  3. Yeah, I really hate the whole young and urban movement and the absolute necessity to try and change everything to appeal to no one. No sport is safe now. Skateboarding, breakdancing, golf, rollerblading, sport climbing were not Olympic sports for a reason. Basketball 3x3 is absolutely unnecessary as well. Modern Pentathlon with a human obstacle course. I'm getting tired of these awful decisions and with every year there's more of them.
  4. Four medals for Lithuania in sprint canoeing and only one in an Olympic distance, just shows how much the decisions of which disciplines are Olympic has fucked us and our chances to succeed in this sport on an Olympic scale Swimming can have 6 different freestyles, running can have 100m up to a marathon, but canoeing sprint is not allowed to have their 200m sprint...
  5. I'm not too fond of basketball lately, but seems we've been winning a lot of stuff recently. Women's u18 European just a week ago, medals in EYOF, a lot of important victories in 3x3. Perhaps Lithuanian basketball is regaining some quality.
  6. BRING BACK THE SWISS USERS And while you're at it, Austria, Estonia, Australia, Switzerland, Norway in TISC again! Sidenote: actually surprised how over the years we haven't seen a single active Belgian user, when we have Germany, France, Netherlands, Denmark for days.
  7. Our very own Gabija Klimukaitė was in the right place at the right time to steal Femke Bol's starting number. Hopefully, this won't be the highlight of her career and she'll grow into a competitive 100m hurdler She ran in three u20 championships, next season she'll have a go at U23.
  8. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow I think that the key lesson of the day is that everybody in the discus final was so ANGRY, cursing, pissed off, stressed. Gudžius was driving himself insane after every throw, Čeh was very unhappy, the Swedes were not too happy either, whilst Alekna and Okoye were the most chill throwers of the night and reached their biggest career achievements. I am very happy and very glad, this young man is hopefully going to have many good competitive years in front of him. I imagine discus throw finals are going to be nail biting every single time between him, Čeh and another youngster - Sosna. I'm feeling overwhelmed, it's nice that Čeh didn't win everything and that we were able to bring one home!!!
  9. Woooow, this has to be the worst high jump final of athletics history To know that both Glebauskas and Baikštys were jumping 2.28 just last summer and came into this season hopelessly out of form, makes me feel all kinds of sad. Missed opportunity for the both of them to get something good on their resume. Just like Stanys with that one silver medal and nothing else for the rest of his life.
  10. Tvorogal still can't deal with what happened at the Olympics or is it injury related? Gytis Chasažyrovas looks like a good future prospect, to follow in the footsteps of Guščinas, Kuzmickas and Tvorogal.
  11. I'm rather clueless in the world of gymnastics, but I assume that Tvorogal (horizontal bar) and Chasazyrovas (pommel horse) have good enough individual marks to qualify to separate finals? I know there's still group 3, but their scores look competitive with the two groups that have already started.
  12. Are the heptathlon medals literally cursed this year with black magic and everybody refuses to try and win them or something? 24 spots for multi-eventers is not enough in a championship if only 10ish finish at the very end.
  13. With how this event is transpiring, I'd call it fair game.
  14. Vetter DNS in Javelin? Good thing there wasn't a prediction contest for this athletics event, because I would be FUMING right now.
  15. Lithuanian swimming federation just shared a post with medal tables of recent swimming championships and it was nice to see that Lithuania has won medals in the last 5 European Aquatic championships, last time missing out in 2012. Here's to hoping the next championships are going to be successful as well.
  16. Nope, him not qualifying would've been an upset. Last season he was fully capable of being top 8 in Europe on time alone, but this year the competition raised their game, so finals are rather unlikely.
  17. I would've assumed that both the BBC commentators and spectators from the stadium were watching sport climbing just like all of those spectators at the beach volleyball events
  18. After bad performances from Galvydytė and Karinauskaitė, at least Truskauskas pulled through...
  19. Miserable attempts from Lisek
  20. Liveta Jasiūnaitė qualifying as number 1 in the women's javelin is giving me war flashbacks of how badly it all went down in the WCH final
  21. Could be some similarities yes, for example your nickname perfectly translates to Macedonian in Lithuanian, wouldn't even need to change a single letter. Your question caused me to go on a google rampage and I found some info. Arijus Pavlidi was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania, he has now moved to train in Thailand. His grandpa was Greek and moved to live in Lithuania.
  22. Ok, I'm pissed. No way to see 3000m Steeplechase since LRT are geoblocking the livestream, but they're not streaming athletics this morning as well. I woke up for this shit...
  23. 4 medals for Lithuania from three different athletes, that is an amazing achievement for us. Hopefully for the next important competition, Danas Rapšys is going to be in a desired form as well. It would be great if Savickas and Pavlidi returned to form as our talented prospects on their first steps of senior careers. And looking forward to what Pancerevas and Plytnykaitė can show in the following years.
  24. For future broadcasts, perhaps our national broadcaster is not geoblocking our broadcasts. It was broadcasting beach volleyball, athletics, swimming, cycling and rowing on three different channels on their website. And since you wouldn't be able to understand the shit that our commentators are talking about, it would even be bearable
  25. All I can say is that she's amazing Hopefully continues at least till Paris, but I will always cherish this comeback even if she decides to pursue her studies without competitive swimming.
