  1. It's what's written on the grave of the "confused" reaction, may it forever be in our hearts and minds. Only one person knows the exact time that it died, can you guess?
  2. So many problems and troubles would be solved without ever needing to reply
  3. Honestly, I would have had a good time with the "confused" reaction. R.I.P 2017-2017

  5. You won't believe this, but we actually have the Lithuanian team announced, give me a second to post it
  6. Anyone planning to create "I don't like the reactions" club? Plus I think there was a "drama club" even before the software changes.
  7. I guess I can sleep calm, knowing that the WR at least didn't go to Jefimova.
  8. Honestly, not even our federation knows whose going to these championships. So many athletes hid their injuries till the final moment and some are waiting for qualifications through rating.
  9. I think that you could watch our broadcast abroad, but I think that drowning would be a much more exciting experience. We always manage to find people that have absolutely no clue about the sport. A few days ago, I watched our Athletics championships and there was this guy that kept saying how triple jump is going to be very exciting (when two of our best triple jumpers were not present) and that athlete A (with 13.60~ PB) was in danger of being challenged for first by athlete B (with 12.39 PB).
  10. For moments like these, I would be willing to learn.
  11. Hm, Meilutytė actually made the final, but the world record's dying tomorrow.
  12. In all honesty, I expected Giedrius Titenis to make it into the 100m. Breastroke final, but he ended up 12th. What I did not expect was Andrius Šidlauskas with another PB and a Q to the final with the 4th time.
  13. Honestly, this is a question that every person in Lithuania is speculating about. Basically, the main theory is that she had good foundations built in Lithuania, but had some problems whilst training in UK. It is said that John Rudd made her develop too many muscles and she became too heavy, which in turn caused her to lose stamina and she was not able to go at her full speed as she constantly grew slower and her technique then suffered with every stroke. (she pretty much abandoned every other style she used to swim in during 2013-16, now she swims freestyle more often and is even trying 200m. breaststroke). Anyways, leading up to Rio, she had suffered from a huge injury, but her results started declining prior to that, so the injury was pretty much a good scapegoat from the lack luster performance in 2016. Of course, after that, everyone was confident there needed to be changes (a bit too late in my humble opinion), she got offers from all over the world, but for some reason she chose to come back to Lithuania and train in her hometown under a trainer, that does not have any experience with top athletes. Her results were very underwhelming the entire season, she participated in some low rank champs where she couldn't even finish 1st and had trouble holding back our second best breastroker. She also participated in our national champs, where she said that she was struggling with illness, missing some starts, participating in some until she was taken to the hospital on the 3rd and final day and there are no more news on her after that one.
  14. With the World Championships coming up, I think that Giedrius Titenis, Danas Rapšys and Simonas Bilis are our only realistic contenders for finals and/or perhaps a medal. Rūta Meilutytė, I think, is going to have an awful performance, I don't even think she'll qualify to the final, looking at her constantly regressing results. What a shame.
  15. The saddest thing is that there will no longer be those wonderful moments when the commentators gave up after 'Dz' in Dzindzaletaitė and just resorted to saying the Lithuanian.
  16. Hopefully no more sons then And as for Dovilė, well, she ignored e-mails from our federation and started a bickering war on Facebook and through media how they were cutting off her Olympic funding, because she got pregnant. This lead our athletics federation president to share the e-mails on Facebook for everyone to see, the roasts were funny as hell This is still the reason why everyone is speculating that she might change nationality to GB, because there were many instances where she claimed that our federation does not care about her (paid for her expenses of training in Spain). Also, she had major arguments with her former triple jump coach (same Spain), whom is going to train our newest triple jump prospect Diana Zagainova from next year.
  17. Well, she ain't the smartest tool in the shed either. Plus the whole pregnancy thing didn't make it easy to break it off even if she wanted to (the pregnancy was not planned, since she had a qualification to RIO 2016 and there was this huge scandal with our federation and funding). Anyways, they married a fair while ago and she had already signed the paperwork for the surname change, I don't know why it's taking so long, but I'm guessing that it should be ready for the World Championships though. On top of that, the kid's named Richard as well and naming your children after your name is one of the biggest pet peeves for me. Like, how egotistical you have to be to destine your son to being Richard Junior... Aghhhh
  18. I thought it was well known information here on Totallympics that she married Richard Kilty as I came across people discussing that here before (I also know the hate is strong here for him) He says he's a reformed man after having a son.
  19. So, Dovilė Dzindzaletaitė (soon to be known as Dovilė Kilty though who could blame her with a surname like that) 1st season after giving birth and she already jumped a qualifying mark of 14.15 in the Triple Jump, qualifying to the World Championships. I wonder if her own Lithuanian NR will stand for long (14.23).
  20. Nice, with so many injuries from our U23's, I didn't expect to leave this one with a medal
  21. With everyone getting disqualified in women's race walk, we are on our way for our first medal!
  22. Well, this championship is over for us, again pretty devastated that it's the last one, but I'd say our team overall did pretty great. Sure, a pretty lack luster performance from our high jumper and race walker. First of all, an amazing medal in heptathlon by Bačianskaitė (the last time Lithuania won a medal in U18 WCH was 2007 by our famous discus thrower Andrius Gudžius) and a 5th place by Juškevičiūtė. These girls continued to prove that they're the real deal and hopefully they'll continue getting better together and pushing each other to greater results, especially since they're very close skill wise. Another amazing achievement is from Gabija Galvydytė, whom had a qualification in 400m./800m. and 400m. Hurdles. Last year in U18 ECH 800m. she didn't make the semi-final, this year she focused on other disciplines and took out nearly two seconds from her 400m. Hurdles PB (which I saw her running a couple of weeks ago) and placed 4th, showing that she is a great talent and one to look out for the future. And lastly, I am fairly happy with the 7th place from our Decathlete, a final from Survilas in 800m. and a semi-final from Šaltenytė in 800m. Seeing our team on paper before these championships, I'd rate our performance a solid 8.5/10 Good luck to the delegations on the final day tomorrow
  23. Eh, we had to settle with 5th Hopefully Edis Matusevičius gets healthy before the World Championships and gives us a 80+ metres throw there to make the final. Seeing as our discus thrower lost a couple of months of preparations, because of an injury as well and our long jumper has a bad season, 5th is probably going to be our best place in these championships now
  24. We held on to the BRONZE 3rd and 5th place in Heptathlon!
