  1. I can't believe that I had to miss my favourite CC skiing event due to work In memory of 2017:
  2. I hope the other Russian girls step up so that she doesn't make it
  3. Oof, forgot to update. So, in the Lithuanian Championships, Diana Zagainova jumped a PB of 13.97 in the triple jump, qualified to the European Indoor Championships and solidified herself as the 2nd best triple jumper in Lithuanian history right after Dovilė Dzindzaletaitė. Interestingly enough, Diana (just like Dovilė when she was her age) will go to the U23 as one of the favourites, so we might have a nice triple jumping tradition starting. Lastly, 18y.o. Akvilė Andriukaitytė ran 60m. in 7.40 at COSMA cup today and qualified to the European Indoor Championships as well. She is the final one to reach the standard as this was the final qualification competition. Heading into the championships, our team now consists of: Simas Bertašius - 1500m. Adrijus Glebauskas - High Jump Akvilė Andriukaitytė - 60m. Agnė Šerkšnienė - 400m. Eglė Balčiūnaitė - 800m. Airinė Palšytė - High Jump Dovilė Dzindzaletaitė - Triple Jump Diana Zagainova - Triple Jump Modesta Morauskaitė and Natalija Piliušina qualified, but not starting. It's going to be a fun event for us to follow as we have three fairly legit medal chances in these championships, I'm excited.
  4. Heard from my friend that Karol Dombrovski was a bit of a star the entire broadcast A fairly solid 6th place for Karol, congratulations to him for winning the Funding Games
  5. Thank you North America Although this might leave us without funding
  6. @dcro hey, it's not like you to keep away from the festivities for such a long time?
  7. The championships seem to be pretty stacked, comparing to recent years
  8. Strolia is quick, but can't shoot if his life depended on it Still, it was refreshing to see our athlete gaining positions and not leaking them based on ski speed.
  9. Lithuania's gonna be treating this like the World Championships. Let the funding games begin!
  10. No sorry, we're only emotionallyladying in these parts of the woods
  11. First time winners: Alexandr Loginov (26yo), Quentin Fillon-Mallet (26yo), Yullia Dzhyma (28yo), Marte Olsbu Roiselend (28yo), and then Vittozzi at 23, Preuss at 24 and Davidova at 22. Biathlon is a sport with a lot of psychology which tends to benefit some of the more mature athletes and sometimes raw talent does not even translate into good results. And if we're going to bring into the discussion how many athletes missed out on medals due to a missed shot, we might as well count all of the people that "nearly won" the individual race if not for a single missed shot.
  12. Not everyone develops at the same time and not everyone starts winning at freakin' 21... Just because one junior is starting to have solid results, does not mean that others that have been on par with her at junior level, will immediately excel in the senior level, because that's a totally different game.
  13. And we got the fourth medal in the history of Lithuanian participation in this festival Does not happen often.
  14. Tomorrow the Lithuanian indoor championships start. Might be pretty interesting, most of the top names are attending. I'll update if we have any athletes reaching the European indoor ch. standard, at the moment we're sending 6 athletes.
  15. Lithuania sent 11 (figure skater injured, so we lost 1). 4 biathletes 4 cross-country skiers 2 alpine skiers 1 snowboarding The snowboarder might actually have a medal chance in this competition. Other than that, perhaps a good start from a biathlete? Gytis Mikoliūnas just got a 31st place in the youth world championships, so the field of opponents should be a bit easier in Sarajevo.
  16. I remember when our Gabrielė Leščinskaitė was a rival for Tomingas and they went back and forth on who is better. Yet it's Tomingas scoring points and Leščinskaitė finishing in 80-90th places in the world cup
  17. Basically his rifle started jamming up due to the cold thus he made some adjustments, but the barrel weighed less than 500g after the race.
  18. Tarjei Boe stopping his brother would be best anime
  19. Are they fucking serious? Turning 20K into a junior race and after adding women's 50K, to which some of the athletes have already started moving over from 20K, they decide to scrap all that work down to 30K. Great.
  20. We'll see Kaisa Makarainen finish the short one whilst Gabrielė Leščinskaitė is still in shooting 3 at the warm up individual
  21. The women will need to be quick as fuck if they want to make it in time to their starting positions for the short individual.
