  1. The Masters start tomorrow. It will be very important for us to use this event at home to our advantage in the Olympic qualification.
  2. The regular events are called "elite" events on the schedule / live scoring, that's why I called them "elite".
  3. Is this integrated schedule with para cycling a good idea? I feel like it's a mistake. 7 days are too many for only 22 elite events, the schedule is stretched too thin for viewers who only care about the elite athletes, and they are probably the majority who tune in for this.
  4. FYI to anyone who comes here for these Worlds: you can't park your car near to the stadium. The organizers made it quite clear that spectators should use public transport. The stadium is a "green zone", they didn't build a big parking lot for it. Google maps is your friend, it's very reliable here, you can use it to find the best public transport routes. And if you are here for an entire week, buy a monthly pass for the public transport, which costs 9,500 HUF (around 24-25 EUR). If you are here for only a couple of days, you can buy a 72 hours pass (5,500 HUF, 13-14 EUR).
  5. KI Klaksvik eliminated BK Hacken Now they will surely play in the group stage of an UEFA league.
  6. The team in the Olympic events: Men's K1 1000m: Ádám Varga Men's K2 500m: Bence Nádas, Bálint Kopasz Men's K4 500m: Bence Nádas, Kolos Csizmadia, István Kuli, Sándor Tótka We are going for the 6 quotas with Nádas in both K4 and K2. We can only go 6/6 here if all 3 boats qualify. Varga is a lock for the quota in K1, but the K2 and K4... it won't be easy. Kopasz and Nádas aren't prepared at all for the K2 and the K4 boat is unreliable. Women's K1 500m: Tamara Csipes Women's K2 500m: Sára Fojt, Noémi Pupp Women's K4 500m: Alida Gazsó, Tamara Csipes, Eszter Rendessy, Dóra Hadvina Csipes in K1 and K4, so we have to win the 6 quotas in K2 and K4. I am very afraid, I don't trust these boats. Men's C1 1000m: Balázs Adolf Men's C2 500m: Dávid Korisánszky, Ádám Fekete No idea what to expect. I can see us finishing with 0 or 3 quotas, anything is possible. Women's C1 200m: Virág Balla Women's C2 500m: Giada Bragato, Bianka Nagy Should be 2 quotas for us in C2, I doubt that Balla will deliver the third in C1.
  7. Now that the Aquatics and Fencing Worlds are done, what are the next big events to follow before the Athletics Worlds? I am guessing the Cycling Worlds will be the #1 event of the first half of August and the Sailing Worlds will be a huge event in terms of direct Olympic quotas. I don't care about the Archery and Sport Climbing Worlds, but I am sure many of you will watch those as well. We also got the Judo Masters coming up in Budapest this weekend which will hand out some very important world ranking points.

  11. Bence Halász, Hammer throw, 78.27 At the Németh Pál Memorial in Hungary, you can find the results here: https://atletika.hu/live-results/1082
  12. Unbelievable, just unbelievable. Anna Márton just comes in with an injury and completely turns the match around. World Champions again! And first World Champs gold for Anna Márton (she had to skip the previous season), who deserved this so, so, so much. The greatest female Hungarian sabre fencer ever now has her WCh title. 3 gold medals for Hungary, the most gold medals at the Worlds in the past 33 years. Truly goes above and beyond expectations. They put the bar incredibly high for Paris, hopefully they can deliver a similar performance there.
  13. Europe needs to end this Chinese overperformance. If somehow wins this WCh, it would hard for France to reach the Top4 on the Olympic ranking in the next World Cup season.
  14. Kinda sad that we didn't get a v final, would have been one for the ages. Men's foil turning into a table tennis event.
  15. Wow, what a 1500 final. Amazing race. The US is truly cursed at these Worlds.
  16. Btw, this is terrible news for in men's foil. Suddenly China is contender for the Top4 in the Olympic ranking, currently we only have 2 European teams qualifying in men's foil.
  17. I thought that men's foil is one of the more predictable events. I guess I was wrong. No Europeans in the Top4, in the final out of nowhere.
  18. I must say, before the finals, that Hungarian fencing did well this year at the Worlds. 4 medals and at least 2 gold medals. Couldn't have asked for more. I mean, we had other chances, but I can't demand perfection, even the strongest nations had their disappointments. This is one of our best performance in the past few decades. I can only hope that we can have a similarly good competition one year from now in Paris.
  19. Unbelievable, after a very mediocre season the sabre girls get their shit together when it matters the most and they are in the Worlds final again! Didn't see this medal coming at all.

  23. One thing is for sure now: we have to beat Korea. Otherwise we enter a potential showdown between Ukraine, Italy and us.
  24. @phelps What do you think, can (+ France, duh) all qualify in women's sabre? A lot depends on here, they are currently 16th on the World ranking.
