  1. For the only sport that matters (moguls) SLC’s venue remains the greatest of all times :P (I am much more excited for Milan’s venues tbh, Olympic biathlon in Antholz is gonna be nuts)
  2. What's frustrating is that we have vaccines available *everywhere* for free. You don't even need to book an appointment, you just show up and they stick a needle in your arm.
  3. Most state governments (where most of the police and public health powers lie) are doing basically nothing. Certainly the case where I live (Texas). Most people are masking indoors again, but I live in a big city and that's definitively not the case across the state. Between the third and fourth waves there was virtually no masking at all anywhere (I also visited Florida in that period and there was essentially no mask in sight).
  4. I mean I remember Europeans clutching their pearls over seal hunting in Canada because it looks gory so...
  5. I mean it's France, I get worried when there aren't riots.
  6. This but unironically (though I would prefer a format with 2 men and 2 women to the current 1/1 format).
  7. Raducanu is quite clearly the better player, at least today. I hope this is something that Fernandez can learn from, and not an experience that demolishes her mentally or exposes her game in a way that she can't recover from (like happened with Bouchard).
  8. The IJF has suspended Fethi Nourine and his coach for ten years due to withdrawing from the Olympics to avoid fighting an Israeli judoka.
  9. Wild that Fernandez, someone completely unknown outside of Canada and of people who follow tennis pretty closely, made the US open finals... as the highest ranked player left.
  10. Would be incredible if this is the start of a decade long rivalry. It's WTA so I doubt it xD
  11. It would have been a real surprise if she chose to represent Canada, ya. Either way she’s very much a product of the British system.
  12. Imagine how insane Canadian fans would be going right now if Raducanu had decided to represent Canada.
  13. Fernandez just keeps doing it. Wow. And she may very well be the oldest finalist xD
  14. The e-sports titles have been announced: Arena of Valor Dota 2 Dream Three Kingdom 2 FIFA HearthStone League of Legends PUGB Mobile Street Fighter V Lets put them in tiers: Is actually a serious competitive game worth taking seriously Dota 2 League of Legends Street Fighter V Has a serious competitive scene, but is heavily dependent on luck FIFA HearthStone Why? Arena of Valor Dream Three Kingdom 2 PUBG Mobile This is not the worst lineup possible, but it has some baffling omissions and some baffling inclusions.
  15. Listed under challenged: "Ski racing is Eurocentric". ...ya one look at the calendar shows they have a point. It looks like one of their objective is to team up with their US counterparts to have more Alpine events hosted in North America.
  16. Nope, IIRC it's her strength and conditioning coach.
  17. This result did Svitolina dirty, but man that was some mental fortitude from Fernandez.
  18. Fernandez
  19. That is correct. It’s kind of hard to really know what the rules are / how well enforced they are because there are so few naturalizations in China. Ninali Zheng is a case where an athlete specifically wanted to represent China, she wasn’t recruited. I wonder if the Chinese government will be willing to be more flexible for athletes that they are actively recruiting.
  20. A permanent big air venue is a weird idea.
  21. Eileen Gu is still an American citizen so who knows how strict they are about this.
  22. Chris Chelios’ kid playing for China will be really weird.
  23. What a dream run for Fernandez so far.
  24. I know, that's why I said that. Half my family is from Quebec and it's definitively the... loudest side. Also the side that is the most fun to party with by some margin.
  25. If you think Latinos are exuberant, wait until you meet a Quebecois... (A Latino from Quebec would of course be pretty loud)
