  1. Huge congrats to for winning their first ever Winter Olympic gold medal! Seriously, though, what a gutsy performance from Bolshunov.
  2. What a stressful qualification session for Canada xD Final list of qualifiers:
  3. McMorris, Toutant and Parrot made the men's slopestyle finals, Darcy Sharpe didn't land a run and misses out.
  4. Rinnekangas had five sixth of a top three run there. Unfortunate.
  5. First big upset, Kleveland is almost certainly out (due to a bobble in the rails). Henrickson is out, which is a minor surprise too. Hamada having by far the most creating rail line, I really love it.
  6. What I'm noticing from the judging is that minor rail errors are being punished very harshly, which was also the case at previous Olympics.
  7. Clutch qualification run from McRib.
  8. Alright, McRibs is safe, Toutant looking pretty good too. Parrot is in real danger.
  9. Three run format is way better than the two run format based on what I've seen over the years. Two run formats lead to a decent bit more randomness in the results.
  10. That's a little optimistic IMO.
  11. Canada cannot be denied yet another fourth place.
  12. There is a real risk of no Canadian making the men's slopestyle finals.
  13. Best ever finish for at the winter Olympics.
  14. Men's slopestyle qualifying is an unmitigated disaster for Canada so far (despite two full pulls).
  15. and are mathematically guaranteed medals already.
  16. Ya, Canada holds the h2h tiebreak over both three-loss teams.
  17. Well; Kagiyama went out there and earned his bronze medal, even though he didn't need to do anything special. Great skate.
  18. Biggest remaining bullet dodged by . Unless something seismic happens the podium is pretty much locked in now, gold, silver, bronze. and really didn't do anything to help the US here.
  19. I was really looking forward to seeing them play against Johnny Mo, the dynamic would have been a lot of fun.
  20. Is this the first Bolero of the Beijing Olympics?
  21. Misato Komatsubara and Tim Koleto are going to win an Olympic medal, which is only marginally better :P (The rest of the Japanese team really deserves it tho)
  22. A horror show by Roman here, falling on a singled jump and in the middle of a step sequence. Hopefully he can have a better performance in the individual event (obviously no shot at a medal, but it's always nice to see people skate their best).
  23. That's unironically a really good result tbh. Without Messing Canada had no shot at all at a medal, and just making the free skate is a huge win.
  24. The delayed downhill is causing a really, really huge hole in the schedule.
