Ya, Canadian moguls skiing is in extremely rough shape, it just looks fine because Kingsbury is one of the greatest skier of all times. Canada has to give up six quotas total, so I think at least one rejected quota in both men's and women's moguls is a given.

Other than 2014 the Dutch have always underperformed in the team pursuit at the Olympics. I'll believe they are the favorite when I see it, until then I have them down as a big question mark.

I expect 4 or 5 golds. I really don't think there is any event where the Dutch have a higher chance to win than the field other than the men's 1000m, but also the Dutch have a pretty good chance in every event other than the men's 500m, 5000m, 10000m (assuming van der Poel doesn't fall) and mass start. Also there is no such thing as being a lock to win the mass start xD

I think it's a big problem that Alpine and cross country skiing have to bear all the weight of universality places. My approach would be to offer all otherwise unqualified NOCs up to two universality places (one per gender) across all individual sports, as long as the athlete meets the basic requirements, and make those places available outside the sport's quota (set aside like 100 quota places for it overall, which can be taken from Alpine and cross country).

What the IOC should be doing is having floating tripartite invitations for countries who's best athletes aren't Alpine or cross country skiers. I'd rather see someone like Frimpong compete than some random skier who went to some dodgy FIS race.

There is a decent chance Jasey-Jay Anderson will qualify for his seventh Olympics :P Anyway, Alpine snowboarding is sort of it’s own niche and has been for a long time, it really doesn’t have anything in common with cross or park & pipe anymore (there used to be crossover between those disciplines but that’s very much a thing of the past).
