    The women's 4x200m heat lineup tonight is Savard, Rebecca Smith, Harvey and Pickrem. They are wisely giving Oleksiak and McIntosh the end of the morning off. A bit surprised Sanchez isn't in the lineup, though. Also this may explain why Pickrem scratched the 200m breast.

    So happy for Primož Roglič. This is an amazing crowning achievement.

    What's kind of crazy is that the only reason Carey even qualified is that she was the only American to go for the individual apparatus world cup qualification route. She wouldn't have made the Olympics under the qualification rules for any other Olympics.

    It's also worth remembering that Biles has been through some serious trauma because of her career as a gymnast (being sexually assaulted as a child is no joke) and has been forced to deal with it very publicly.

    Biles is not the first athlete to suddenly lose air awareness. I remember reading an article about an elite British trampoline gymnast who suddenly and inexplicably lost the ability to do any of her skills and had to re-learn everything from scratch. If she's getting lost in the air with any sort of regularity then she needs to address that before she can compete again because it's a legitimate safety issue (assuming she even wants to compete again).

    scores 3 in the bottom of the 9th to win 4-3 over in the only Olympic baseball game that will be played in Fukushima.

    He is back on his feet but trailing Humbert in the third set.

    It looks like Nicolas Mahut is going to lose in the first round for the fourth event in a row (twice in men's doubles and twice in mixed doubles). He was the first seed for three of those, and the second seed the other time. Just incredible.

    Tsitsipas looks very injured, he can barely walk.

    Hugo Houle is obviously not going to medal but he's getting good TV time as the best early starter.

    Is this the first time the US fails to medal in a swimming relay for a reason other than a DQ or a boycott? Edit: the US didn't compete in a single relay in very first women's 4x100m relay but otherwise have medaled at every swimming relay in non-boycotted games until today.

    failed to make the finals in the women's pair O.o

    Penny's bronze is going to be it in terms of medals today, right? I don't think there is any other medal event today where Canada is even participating, except for the road time trial.
