I just went with the Tokyo gold medallists that I felt had the highest chance to repeat. There are definitely others who also are strong contenders for gold including Olivia Reeves .

How has somebody not mentioned Weightlifting till now? It is probably the most predictable sport in the Olympics. Going by the easiest gold medallists, I think Li Fabin (Men's 61 kg), Lasha Talakhadze (Mens 102+kg), Hou Zhihui (Women's 49 kg) and Li Wenwen (Women's 81+kg) are guaranteed gold medallists.

Give seeds through the world rankings. As you pointed out, there is a little bit of a mess in some categories due to countries missing important championships, but overall it still seems like the best approach.

This is such a stupid decision. Why are they deciding the seeding only on the basis of a single tournament? And how is a European or Asian champion almost the same as an Australian or African champion?

So 2 bronze and 2 4th place finishes for the recurve teams in the last world cup and major event before Olympics. Bodes well for our medal hopes in Paris.
