Kerkun's Achievements

  1. She came back at the end of the last season. During the break, she gave birth to 2 kids and it looks like she got her fainting under the control.
  2. We can add another nation to the men's competition as Thomas Weir reached less than 120 FIS points average in the slalom.
  3. FIS points are up and he's through. Also in Dubai, Rafael Mini is very close to secure the first qualification for his country for these Games. He needs <= 120.59 FIS points tomorrow.
  4. No, it didn't change and it's pretty stupid system. Although reading the Q&A about the AIN skaters, while feeling less sick than yesterday, makes me think there will be only one skater in the short track per gender from a suspended country, doing all the distance even if they don't earn the quota themselves but they will be the highest in any SOQC.
  5. Points of different skaters from the same country are not added. It looks like only one from Russia/Belarus will earn a starting place in a distance and the others will be skipped like the 4th athlete from any other country.
  6. We are still very pro-Ukraine. There is rising pseudo-neutral anti-Ukraine, anti-EU and anti-Israel populistic party but it still has no power, they only bark loud and the social media make it look bigger than it actually is.
  7. Only Germany left with any real chance to make it to the Team Event. Finland and Australia way too far away from top 5.
  8. They are not related and yes, Semeniuk is a surname with the Ukrainian origins. The south-eastern part of Poland, the Eastern Galicia with the city of Lviv where the Ukrainian Semeniuk was born, before WWII was mostly Ukrainian. After WWII many people from that area migrated or were moved to the western Poland.
  9. Only 20 days from March, the rest from the day of the decision. They can't compete until early November so they just skip the rest of the summer and return for the World Cup.
  10. Entries for the qualifier are out https://www.isu.org/events/owg-figure-skating-qualifying-competition-2025
  11. According to my calculations, in men's +1, moved up do D.1, 2nd ski jumper for and demoted to D.2, -1.
  12. We had the first Grand Prix competitions this weekend in Courchevel, including the new High Five format on Sunday. High Five is a competition where ski jumpers are divided into groups of five using the serpentine system based on the quali or previous competition results - two best of each group and 4 or 5 lucky losers (women and men respectively) move forward to the second round. For the final classification, only the score in the second round counts. It's quite rough around the edges, not easy to follow in the TV broadcast, and will be tested once again next week in Wisła. Nika Prevc won on Saturday while Abigail Strate did so on Sunday, likewise Marius Lindvik and Niklas Bachlinger. I think Slovakia had one of the best weekends ever. Hektor Kapustik was P28 and P17 , while his younger sister Kira Maria P28 was and P27. And don't forget about Tamara Mesikova with P22 and P23. Slovakia is very close to having at least one ski jumper in each gender at the Olympics. @hckošice Frida Westman had a solid proper return to scoring points with P15 and P16. To finish the update, on the men's side lost its sole provisional quota for now thanks to Raimund claiming the yellow bib by coming second twice.
  13. It will be few days after the last ski jumping event at the Olympics. Nothing to worry. Only some sponsors won't be happy and the B team that will go to the Continental Cup.
  14. The rules are stricter this time around than in 2022. Back then, the average for Slalom or Giant Slalom was 160 FIS pts instead of 120 and there was no requirement for 30 classified men or 20 women for anything below Continental Cups/Universiade/Junior Worlds in these 2 events.
