Morning, peeps. Just saw the opening ceremony and it's spectacular. Well done, Slovakia. Also, thankfully the flag issue was resolved because they looked broken on my end lol.

I'm not a fan of Ukraine's song, but they deserved victory. You can't hate on a powerful performance, plus I think it sounds better live. And even though I like Australia's song more, I'm happy they didn't win. But I'm extremely happy that Poli gave Bulgaria their best result ever! She may not have won Eurovision, but she's my personal winner and she'll always be in my heart. Oh, and Logo TV aired Eurovision here in the states for the first time and the commentators were shit. Absolute shit. And no, they didn't show Justin Timberlake here, so really idc at all.

I think we may have a surprise winner this year. Everyone may be focusing on Russia and Australia and Ukraine, but someone unexpectedly will come around and give them a run for the money.

I'm so happy for Bulgaria! At least now that's one less hurdle for them. I'm still in shock about Iceland and Estonia not qualifying, as well as Norway. And especially Georgia qualifying. Obviously Russia, Ukraine, and Australia are dominating the bookies, but I don't think any of them will win.

Historic semi to say the least. Finally Czech Republic has a final added to their name, I'm happy for Azerbaijan, Russia, Hungary, but sad for Iceland (finally a good song) and Estonia, and why Croatia? That song is so dull, as is the Netherlands. Anyway, I'm legit scared for Bulgaria for semi final 2, even though I know they will pass, you never know. XD

Gave my first listen to the songs (finally after a delay) but hopefully we'll get it down to about 14-15 by tomorrow.

Yeah, I wasn't too keen on Poli's outfit either, but it doesn't distract me from the song, and it shouldn't stop people from liking it anyway because she slayed. Okay, I know I'm saying this because she is my number 1 this year, and I really want her to qualify, but honestly I haven't seen the other 41 rehearsals, so I gotta get to it. xD

We're still working on our votes, but expect them to come this weekend because next week Eurovision will be the only thing on my mind, so we're gonna have to finish up by then.

Yeah, this is unfortunate for Ovidiu, being in the center of this whole fight between the EBU and TVR. I mean, yes, the EBU should've picked a better time to withdraw services for TVR due to them defaulting on their debt, but at the same time, TVR should've at least made payments since the EBU had been asking for the money. Either way, it's messed up and I can only feel for Ovidiu after everything he has done.

USA Well, where do we begin... number 1, there were so many songs available for this jury to choose from, however, we had to eliminate half the field since some of the artists are not from here (you have to understand, many artists from other countries top charts here, so our task is harder than it seems). Overall it was a good year for music in America, and we were basically limitless on the artists that are available for us to fly the stars and stripes in Slovakia, so after practically 2 months of procrastinating and a weekend of this over that (and a night of reminders per say), the American jury has chosen Meghan Trainor to represent us. Yeah, I can confirm, just casually watching other tops got me there. Though Russia is my number 5, I too think they will flop.

The US should have a song ready by the end of the weekend. I'm going through many options right now to find a suitable candidate, so it's going to take some time.
