  1. OMG what a silly turnover for China.
  2. There will be a round for eliminated teams with groups for positions 17-32. Even eliminated teams still have many games to play, Nigeria just needs that Tunisia doesn't advance to top 16 to have a chance.
  3. No. Only one goes for Africa. And Tunisia is not qualified, they have to beat Puerto Rico for that.
  4. A ban for booing? What totalitarian fantasy is that? As long as nobody is hurt or they don't disrupt the game the spectators should be able to express themselves as they wish.
  5. While the tone of the article is frankly hilarious, there is no way around it... his country is actively sabotaging his career. If not for another nation he should be allowed as refugee or independent athlete next year. If Iran is suspended every other israel-boycotting nation should be as well, of course. Yes, probably nothing will change in those countries but in the sport world the rules are these... and sport-ruling bodies aren't the UN, every country is legally binded to their decisions if they want to take part.
  6. I don't get our feline friend phelps. Italy wins like a million medals across all sports every year, yet he's mad about a lousy quota in their worst shooting event
  7. I'm just going by the most recent performance. Men's football 14th at euro 2016, women's volleyball here 12th. Obviously in ranking football is better (31st) but only because FIVB is garbage and doesn't even count continental ch.
  8. That was pretty fine by Slovakia, no set under 20 points. Somehow women's volleyball is now their best summer olympic team sport
  9. Also doing that in rowing or canoeing sprint would be unfair due to the water movement.
  10. Serbia yes, Spain I'm not so sure. They lost a friendly to Russia (possible QF opponent) by 20 points last week, also our team was really close to them in the same preparation. Also, I don't really know about this USA... I can easily see Australia, Lithuania or France beating them in a bad day.
  11. Yeah, unless it's a mark sport and there is a tie in the score/time, only one bronze should be given. All combat sports should have bronze match like Fencing does.
  12. Ok, now I'm having a bad day. I mean I guessed all the winners (thats a bit easy) but my point differences are way off in most. In particular Senegal, I just predicted 10pt loss now that I think I have no idea why I did.
  13. I don't get it, you're implying GB does doping or the other countries?
  14. I want the dutch wonder pill olympicsfan was talking about.
  15. Yeah, unless you give a Mercedes to every participant there would be no point
  16. I had a pretty good day as well, my only big miss was PHI-ITA in which I expected a much closer game (13 points prediction for ITA). Philippines was simply awful today, they scored their 1st triple in the 4th Quarter on their 17th attempt

  18. Something that has caught my eye is that Serbia hasn't participated in this category since their title in 2011. Also no participation in u21 since 2013.
  19. Because, one on side, he simply can't be on the same tatami with an israeli and, on the other side, I imagine that faking a loss is easier than winning the semi and then withdraw from the final, which would probably get him in serious trouble with IJF if he can't give a good reason. Regardless, as said before by mhsn, it seems he also isn't allowed to be in a medal ceremony in which the Israel anthem is played, so even winning any medal wasn't an option for him today.
  20. I have no idea how we are in semis with this awful team. I even found out one of our best attackers got injured some weeks ago and isn't here. I also don't understand how Brazil is in 13-16, they beat our team quite easily at south american Ch.

  22. As always in we only care about the first day of Judo competitions. I doubt Paula can defend her medal from last year, she isn't in good health. I see a dangerous korean in her 1/16 way, I think that will be the end of the road, sadly.
