  1. You're right, I read page 2 of the start list... guess they have problems with live scoring
  2. First rotation starts at 6;30 PM according to start list
  3. South Korea hold the last available position for direct qualification, not counting Algeria who will get one of the African spots, and with another two spots will be awarded to teams, Argentina just needing to finish above one of the gymnasts in last rotation
  4. Congrats Germany and Brazil for the team quotas
  5. If Heeyeon Jeong scores less than 11.500, then South Korea might be the one country that isn't going to Rio
  6. Nice to see Guyana qualifying in men's athletics... too bad it ended Alvarez reign of two weeks as world leader in the event. Another Mexican runner achieved the national selection time in women's Marathon Madai Perez - 2:29:27, so Mexico will have full quota in women's, but no representative in men's,as no athlete have achieved the 2:15:00 standard and it is unlikely they'll do it before in one week, as the federation selected April 24th as the date to name the nominative places in Marathon.
  7. That explains it all... it seems that after vault, this team is 99.99% in Rio. Congrats
  8. True, but Scheder and Tratz have underperformed in the first two apparatus; I know that they will close in their strongest apparatus, but I believe this team to be the best of the competition
  9. Germany is not performing as well as expected, but they can be ahead of and if they do better in next two rotations. Meanwhile Castro looks like another of the contenders to be out of the Olympics if she continues to get such low scores.
  10. Antonio Leal in grabs the last quota in men's foil
  11. John Rodriquez from Colombia gets the quota in men's epee...
  12. Day 2 draws I wish another NOC without quota qualify here.
  13. Men's Triple Jump Alberto Alvarez - 16.99 (NR, WL) I'm so glad of this result, because he had already obtained the Olympic standard some days ago, but stupid Mexican federation set higher standards (as if there were enough Mexican athletes to achieve the ones set up by IAAF); I pray that this does not result in a doping case
  14. Actually Wikipedia doesn't reflect that quotas for Colombia, Mexico and Hungary are not nominal, as their 2nd athlete ranked better than the first reserve which is Argentina
  15. No, he's in the Olympics... Congrats Ireland Canada receives the last direct spot for the men's competition, with New Zealand edging Australia for the continental quota. Sadly, Argentina and Puerto Rico are out , and only if the Oceania's spot and/or the Tripartite Invitation are not awarded, they will be in Rio
  16. They need 55.230 to earn that spot, and it is indeed quite possible
  17. Rossy Felix grab the individual quota in women's sabre defeating Panama's Eileen Grench No news yet about men's epee
  18. Well I think they're mostly safe now, with weaker nations to come (JAM, IRL, NZL) and already ahead of other 5 NOC's that have no reserved place (Algeria does), then I assume they're safe, but just barely... pity for Argentina and Puerto Rico, who are almost out
  19. I can't find on the qualification document any provision about teams finishing 5th to 8th being granted one individual athlete... all it says is that for individual spots you have to consider the results of CI.
  20. If I'm correct, they can even finish without an individual competitor
  21. OMG I can't believe it It's a miracle for Mexican fencing!! Julian Ayala in men's sabre and Nataly Michel in women's foil are going to the Olympic Games... Wow, they really take that last chance. Although I feel bad for the Argentinian fencers, they were very unlucky I do not expect much from the epee competitors (the weakest weapon for the national team) but I'll keep my fingers crossed,
  22. Talking about corruption and prefential treatment, I thought that things don't happen in Europe... so unfair for every other Lithuanian weightlifter
  23. No Mexican swimmer qualified today at the meeting in Mesa, Arizona, with only Miguel de Lara improving his OST in Men's 100m breaststroke. Only 2 swimmers have achieved the qualifying time: Liliana Ibañez in women's 50m Freestyle and Longyuan Gutierrez in men's 100m Butterfly, a slight improvement over London, as now two swimmers managed to get under the old "A" standard.
