  1. Good race finish in men's 10km open water.
  2. Draw Process Good afternoon Totallympians. It's glad to be presenting this edition's draw from beautiful Southern California, a duty I gladly accepted from my pal and our good host, @Olympian1010. I will not be dragging this process with too many words, except the process. As per usual, volunteers will have to pick a pair from two panels, the first one featuring pictures of some of the beautiful towns and picturesque spots that California has to offer to visitors from all over the World, that conceal the voting positions for the national juries. In turn the second contains elements that represent the host state, hiding behind them the flags of the participants. A B C D E F 1 2 3 4 5 6 A B C D E F 1 2 3 4 5 6 So, who else will be joining us this afternoon?
  3. Great to have you here @OlympicIRL Any more willing volunteers out there? We need you.
  4. OK, so I have @Cinnamon Bun and @OlympicIRL ready as volunteers. Anyone else?
  5. Don't say 3 times, it's like Beetlejuice
  6. Which in reality they could have just moved mixed doubles final today. I remember back in 2011, that game was also played close to midnight, Mexico eventually winning that gold.
  7. And why did the referee didn’t stop the race after the first lap, when it was obvious the course was 200m short?
  8. Meltdown for Satila in women’s C1. Fortunately, she still advances to the final
  9. Really? Someone find the imbeciles who had 6 years to measure the length of a 1k loop and failed miserably.
  10. Probably one of the worst schedules I’ve seen In multisports games.
  11. Well, team quotas for & unless disaster strikes
  12. Can someone tell me if I’m right about allocation quotas: “North America” comprises N.A. and the Caribbean, and “South America” englobes S.A. and Central America?
  13. Indeed a great contest in the laser run, as Mexico was only fourth before the event. Great run for our two pentathletes qualified to Paris and an exciting competition for the rest of the teams. Heartbreak for Chile as they were ahead of Ecuador before that last shoot. Besides Mexican gold haul, the most impressive performance came from the Ecuadorians which were definitely not a contender in the odds, and went with a batch of medals.
  14. Another gold for Mexico in shooting and another one in boxing… The 40 mark is reachable.
  15. In fact, November 1st is also All Saints Day in Mexico, which has a more Catholic religious element, and in recent times, the commemoration is dedicated to children, while proper Day of the Dead is November 2nd, originally also with religious tones mixed with pre Hispanic rituals in rural and indigenous communities, which have turned (thanks to James Bond & Disney) into a more carnival type of festival in big cities, like a Carmen Miranda Halloween special.
  16. First gold of the day for Mexico, after both teams qualify for gold medal match in mixed pistol team. Also a sure silver in track cycling, who wuth some hope and luck, could be gold.
  17. Thanks for your concern, and fortunately, neither me nor my friends or family, live near Acapulco. What’s sad is that this is one of the states that is a stronghold for MORENA, the governing “welfare leftist” party, which just a month ago suppressed and took all the money from the federal fund for disasters because “it wasn’t necessary”, when in reality it is being funneled into the presidential campaign of the president’s dauphine, same woman who in her previous two government posts did nothing during the 2017 Mexico City earthquake and the collapse of the “metro” lines two years later.
  18. Oh I thought you said Cuba, my bad. Yes Chile could potentially upset Argentina, not as likely though.
