However, at last year's World Championships, Escalante (who had been acting behind the scenes as Arceo's coach) found his way into the athletes lodging and is claimed that when Mexican delegation found out, they asked security to escort him out, which caused an outburst from Arceo who immediately went wild and accused Vega of orchestrating the whole thing, even going as far as to make death threats to Vega. So, of course, competition tomorrow between those two will be personal, even more because our NOC has already nominated Mayan Oliver as part of the Olympic team (a quota she gained at the PanAm Games) and thus, they are not likely to change their mind and reject the continental quota, even if both competitors could qualify via ranking.

I did a quick check of current world rankings in women’s. if the results at the qualifier doesn’t add points, then & are almost secured a team ticket, as the next teams would need to medal at next week’s World Cup to overcome them. &. need to win that stage; &. need to be at least silver, and for a bronze would be enough.
