  1. Jeffrey Read wins silver in men’s super-G also in Kvitfjell! Cameron Alexander with a solid 5th place finish as well. Brilliant week for our alpine skiers.
  2. Forgot about the mixed 4x100m medley relay. Should be Tierney/Acevedo, Dergousoff, MacNeil, and Ruck (Maybe Oleksiak instead of Ruck if her times at Trials are good)
  3. Potential Finals Lineup for Paris 2024 swimming relays: Men’s 4x100m Freestyle: Liendo, Knox, Acevedo, Gaziev Men’s 4x200m Freestyle: Gaziev, Knox, Acevedo, Hussey/Bagshaw Men’s 4x100m Medley: Kharun, Liendo, Tierney/Acevedo, Dergousoff Women’s 4x100m Medley: Masse, Angus/Pickrem, MacNeil, Ruck/McIntosh (Oleksiak?) Women’s 4x100m Freestyle: McIntosh, MacNeil, Ruck, Smith/Savard/MSH (Oleksiak?) Women’s 4x200m Freestyle: McIntosh, Ruck, MSH, Jansen/Savard/Douthwright (Oleksiak?) @Topicmaster1010 thoughts?
  4. Huh? What are you talking about that was a great split from Ruck.
  5. Women’s 4x100m medley relay spilts. Wilm: 58.95 Angus: 1:06.24 Smith: 58.28 Ruck: 52.96
  6. with their second gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships (at this meet, and in history) as Lewis Clareburt stuns the field in the men’s 400m individual medley!
  7. Unrelated to the event, but does anyone know why Swimming Canada chose not to add pre-selected swimmers to the team in specific events before the Canadian Olympic Trials? They did it for Tokyo.
  8. Sarah Sjostrom wins gold in the women’s 50m freestyle in 23.69
  9. Daniel Wiffen completes the 800m-1500m double, winning gold in the men’s 1500m freestyle in 14:34.07! New PB for him as well.
  10. Rory Linkletter qualifies for Paris in men’s marathon through the Seville Marathon!
  11. Great to see Pickrem back at her best. Yeah, with a time like that she’d pretty much be a lock for our breaststroke leg on the women’s medley relay. If she can replicate it at Paris, or even better it, we’d have a shot at silver and maybe even gold if Masse can return to form. Of course I wouldn’t count out the rapidly improving athletes Angus, Branton, and LePage, they’ve all been on a tear lately, but that’s Olympic final and even medal contender worthy.
  12. Men’s 4x100m medley relay makes it 7/7 for Canada in terms of swimming relays, guaranteeing us an additional four quotas! (Some swimmers will probably double up in both gendered freestyle relays, but for the sake of my numbers I’ll just put it under the assumption that none will)
  13. Blake Tierney with a 53.98 split leading off our men’s 4x100m medley relay in prelims!
  14. Can’t wait for Lorne Wigginton in the men’s 400m individual medley, fingers crossed that he can get the OQT
  15. Yamato Fukasawa with a 2:07.07 in the men’s 200m breaststroke at the Konami Open! That time would’ve been good enough for gold at Doha 2024!
  16. I think you mean Wayne* Pinnock
  17. As much as I would love for it to happen, yeah I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much. I’d put a fair few names over him (Rose, Liendo, Grousset, Temple, Kharun, Ponti, and Dressel/Milak if they’re back in form) in terms of odds for Olympic medas, but I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. Olympics do usually tend to bring out the best in athletes, and he could improve on his time, but 51 low probably be enough for an Olympic medal. Of course Rose and Dressel first need to qualify through the USA Olympic Trials, which is far from certain.
  18. Cameron Alexander is back on the WC podium, winning men’s downhill bronze in Kvitfjell!
  19. Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard follows that up with silver in women’s 63kg!
  20. Not sure that’s going to happen, United States will almost definitely disrupt that.
  21. 7.18m for Tara Davis in women’s long jump at the USATF Indoor Championships! #6 all-time performer now!
  22. Women’s Team Pursuit Gold- Netherlands (2:51.20) Silver- Canada (2:54.03) Bronze- Japan (2:54.89) Men’s Team Pursuit Gold- Italy (3:35.00) Silver- Norway (3:36.07) Bronze- Canada (3:36.72) Men’s 500m Gold- Jordan Stolz (33.69) Silver- Laurent Dubreuil (33.95) Bronze- Damian Zurek (34.11) Women’s 500m Gold- Femke Kok (36.83) Silver- Min-Sun Kim (37.19) Bronze- Kimi Goetz (37.21)
  23. Yeah, the qualification format for 3x3 basketball needs some work. Quotas through World Rankings are determined by the points of the top 10 players in a country, and since Canada only has 5-6 good players they kind of got screwed over.
  24. For some reason I thought you said something about her relay time being concerning, but it turns out that I got you confused with some random SwimSwam user
