  1. Also a 53.80 for Ruck in the 100m freestyle. She's had a rough last few years, happy to see her finding some form.

Some of the highlights from this week Adejah Hodge with a WL, PB, and NR of 22.10 in the women's 200m at the Spec Towns Invitational That WL stood for about an hour, before Cambrea Sturgis went 0.01 better in 22.09 at the Baylor Invitational, for a new PB. 5. DNF for Damian Warner in the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational after no heighting in the high jump

  9. Silver for Simon Shan in men's cadet epee (consecutive medals, he won bronze last year) and bronze for Yanka Sobus in women's cadet epee at the Cadet and Junior World Championships Future of Canadian fencing looks bright
  10. Was just doing some research on some of the players on the roster, unless I'm mistaken... now that Jack Merrill has competed in a FINA sanctioned WC for Canada, he's now tied to our team. He was on the US roster for the World U20 Championships in 2023 (he also competed at Youth Pan Ams for Canada in 2019), huge pickup.
  11. Men’s waterpolo team defeats France 13-12 to improve to 2-0 at the World Cup 2!
  12. Team announcement for World Relays https://www.instagram.com/p/DW4dGYLD0dM/?img_index=1&igsh=aWRoOGY5c2xzbGlp
  13. Double bronze for Angel Xiao and Nicole Xuan in women’s junior epee at the Cadet and Junior World Championships
  14. This week and going into next week we have the Saquarema Elite 16, Rock League finals, some NBA/NHL, some tennis, Cairo Modern Pentathlon WC (only finals, still haven’t seen the “new format” in action yet…) And in two weeks the Kip Keino Classic, the Brasilia Elite 16, the Fort Lauderdale Open, some more tennis/NHL playoffs/NBA playoffs Track cycling, rugby sevens, fencing, surfing depends. No Canadian Open. Would watch the Water polo World Cup 2 in Malta, can’t find any streaming options that you don’t have to pay for.
  15. Yes, you're right But unless it's in a windy location, wind has a less visible effect on jumps compared to the track events.
  16. Also, other results of note Jimmy Gressier with a new European record of 12:51 in the men's 5km at the Urban Trail de Lille, moving to #2 on the all-time list and only about two seconds off the WR. In the women's 5km, 17 year old Marta Alemayo went 14:15 to move to #3 on the all-time list. 14 year old Camryn Dailey with an U14 WR of 22.73 in the girls 200m into headwind at the Florida Relays, and another 14 year old Melanie Doggett was 2nd in 22.80 Max Thomas 9.90 PB in the men's 100m at the Florida Relays, now #2 on the top list for the season Monae Nichols with a PB of 7.07m in women's long jump at the Miramir Invitational 22.25 for Mariah Maxwell in the women's 200m at the Texas Relays, although 3.8m/s wind.
  17. Keep an eye for Shanoya Douglas in the upcoming years... 22.11 in the U20 200m, new WL and tied for #3 on the U20 all-time list with the legend Allyson Felix, and 11.13 in the U20 100m despite a bad start at the CARIFTA Games. And she's 18 years old

  19. The Lewin-Lafrance sisters win gold in their first event of the season at the Trofeo Princesa Sofía Regatta!
  20. News from the athletics level… Avery Pearson with a PB of 2:00.76 a month ago at the Colorado Last Chance meet, now follows it up with a 2:01.46 at the Stanford Invitational Evan Burke with a PB of 27:57.04 in the men’s 10000m, and Jadyn Keeler with a PB of 31:56.03 in the women’s 10000m. Jillian Weir with her best ever season opener in women’s hammer throw at the Joey Haines Invite with 71.66m.
  21. Silver for Dunstone at Men’s Worlds.
  22. Wait is it your target or the Italian federation’s ? Not that it matters, but that total would be close to best case scenario. There’s only 10 events in the Olympic programme, and while Italy have a lot of medal contenders, Italy doesn’t have a lot of dominant athletes in sailing that are “locks” for the podium (like China in table tennis, going 1-2 in each gender and winning gold in the team events), it would be an amazing outcome and far from impossible but surprising and would require a lot of things to go right.
  23. Slightly wind aided 9.93 for Audrey Leduc in the women’s 100m at Battle on the Bayou. Outdoor season opener!
