Men's SL/GS is more boring because Kristoffersen has dropped off the boil badly when it seemed 2-3 years ago he can challenge Hirscher. He simply can't these days. If Hirscher avoids injury he's got 5-6 years left and him doing only tech events actually helps his longevity. He only got beat on merit once in slalom this season, the other two he simply eased off too much in the 1st run thinking he can win at 80%.

I care about others too. Men's alpine skiing aka the Marcel Hirscher one man show? Really? That's supposed to be better than Shiffrin/Vlhova?

If you dislike Shiffrin's dominance and Vlhova as a person there's nothing there for you in alpine skiing to follow

The second run will be curious given the course shape. Any of the Top 4 can still win gold tbh. Worley would need a huge charge in 5th.

Vlhova lost 0,5 seconds on mistakes. Shiffrin very passive too.

Kyler Murray has announced he wants to be a NFL QB after all. Wonder what numbers he puts at the combine where he finally gets measured too (5'9" here we go). Woman kicker Kareem Hunt has been signed by the Browns (by his old Chiefs GM Dorsey). He still hasn't been suspended but that's to be expected.

Nobody trains to be a good all-arounder anymore. People train to be elite in one event and they usually combine two to a very good degree and still only the best can be very good in three events (not anyone outside Shiffrin these days). All these short DHs give extra edge to technical skiers already who also profit from a much better shape of the slalom course anyway. Reversing Top 15 for the combined slalom would be the only way to cure this IMO but that hasn't happened.

@Olympian1010 Okay, since talking Iron Mountain in a biathlon thread makes no sense, I checked back and it turns out they held the Continental Cup there this weekend. The World Cup is set to return on 22nd/23rd February 2020.

Since the US nordic combined went downhill over the last decade I thought these hills are gonna die like Thunder Bay in Canada? Steamboat Springs is probably still running and I wonder about the Lake Placid Olympic complex? I saw some Continental Cup in Iron Mountain ca. 3-4 years ago but that seemed very odd. World Cup hardly travels outside Europe other than Japan and the second tier goes to USA?
