  1. That wasn't official by the rules. Licwinko talked Kuchina into refusing the jump-off and Kuchina didn't know the rules This got a lot of press coverage back in Poland because the jump-off should have happened there. Once Kuchina settled for the shared gold it was all over.
  2. Because the rules were only altered in March 2019. In 2015 the jump-off was still mandatory (re: my post above).
  3. WA Congress in Doha in March 2019 scratched the rule about mandatory jump-off for 1st place in vertical jump events (HJ & PV). So if the athletes involved don't want to take part in jump-off they will share that scoring place (which is 1st). This only applies to high jump & pole vault. There were other rules changes in March 2019 like reverting to the old one minute preparation before attempts in technical events (in 2017 they made it 30 seconds for TV purpose but it was highly unpopular).
  4. Hungarian Grand Prix: Bottas managed to take out Norris and Perez at the wet start AND damaged Verstappen's car. Track dried during red flag and Hamilton was caught on the wrong tires on a single car grid (everyone else pitted for slicks). Ocon leads after 15 laps.
  5. Also happy to see Derwael win the uneven bars. She was #1 favorite? Those favorites winning gold medals ain't exactly common so far.
  6. So Jacobs completes the double T gold medal double - Torun & Tokyo
  7. Jacobs wins it!!!! Italy having a bad Games you say??
  8. RAI Sport is probably going nuts... and still men's 100m to come
  9. Barshim and Tamberi will share the gold medal. The only good decision! I'm really happy for these two guys!
  10. Didn't Kravets only had two or three results over 15 meters in her entire career? One of them being that WR of course
  11. No surprise Krejcikova/Siniakova won the women's doubles. They were clear favorites. Easy prediction for me there. Obviously the Brazilians winning bronze were a huge surprise. Btw, did ZDF really say Zverev was the first German Olympic champion in tennis? Like this Graf woman was kinda good back in the day from what I remember?
  12. Ana Peleteiro 14,87 NR and into bronze medal!
  13. Or the Sara Errani's way - grandma's tortellini?
  14. Due to all other things I didn't follow golf at all. After @hckošiceposted Sabbatini had a horrible round two days ago I'm shocked to learn he won a medal SO guess there is life outside slalom canoeing in Slovakia?
  15. Samba's technique remains as terrible as ever
  16. Mamona 15,01 NR! She looks very calm for someone who went over 15m for the first time ever!
  17. Let me just say I'm also happy that Andrade won gold in the vault!
  18. Barshim looking strong. Broke his glasses though
  19. Polish ES says Amos should be and it was the American's fault
  20. A lot of women are getting paid to perform such a "dance" Gong with another PB! She's never been lower than 4th at global champs in the last 13(!) years and she has two longest puts in a matter of 10 minutes here.
  21. Saunders must be the first athlete who twerked in celebration ever
  22. Gong with four longest puts of the entire competition. 20,53 PB in Round 5!
