  1. The chief women's controller for the event (Agnieszka Baczkowska) said that all DSQ were for too large suits and all of them exceeded the maximum stretch by over 1 cm so it was a big transgression. She also said she was surprised so many teams decided to bend the rules at the Olympics. She also said they don't control the same things over & over again to avoid being predictable so athletes have to have everything right and don't second guess what parts of their apparel will "never" be checked or sth.
  2. Anyone who follows ski jumping knows those tech controls could get weird and FIS always has the last laugh in the end. Something was definitely up and Horngacher might really regret the Willingen witch hunt. I suppose FIS got upset with all the snitching and went nuclear at the WOG of all places. I wonder if this was to stop the top teams from spying on each other.
  3. DSQ for suits is always a grey area and the unofficial word is that top nation jumpers never get DSQ unless they don't have a chance for a medal anyway. I'd guess someone told the tech delegate (who was a Pole for the women) to play hardball by the rules this time.
  4. Polish women have taken a massive step backwards under Kruczek in the last two seasons As for Canada, Boyd-Clowes is a well known stalwart and Soukup is well, in the "someone has to miss the Q cut" category but I really thought Strate & Loutitt are actually older. I was shocked to learn the latter barely turned 18 last month.
  5. Emily Sweeney also hits the deck there. Ends up crossing the line head first
  6. I'd say Berreiter can still nick it overall. Can't believe how Taubitz blew that!
  7. Big Thunder still exits? Like it would cost too much money to blow it up?
  8. All DSQ were for women. The men are safe Kinda best podium of the entire games. This sport really doesn't offer much medal changes outside of the big nations. I hope and enjoy their five minutes in the sun
  9. Silver medal for Only their second ski jumping medal after LH gold in 1968 for
  10. He's done it!!! wins a OG medal in ski jumping!!! Bring back Big Thunder!!!!
  11. Alright then. Boyd-Clowes needs ca. 98 meters for a shocking Canada medal!
  12. Silje Opseth DSQ. Well, they wouldn't have won a medal anyway.
  13. And they fucked over. Well, that's why I don't follow this sport on a regular basis. Pure BS.
  14. It's happening!!! Shaolin Sandor Liu wins!!!
  15. Avvakumova is really feeling that medal
  16. Not really. Japan is only 12 points behind them.
  17. Stroem DSQ!!! Japan can still win a medal with 7 valid jumps tbh.
  18. Arianna Fontana does it! With no Maliszewska I guess she was the best one to win.
  19. FIS site has revoked the revoked DSQ. and back to three total jumps. Either way remain 9th and are out.
  20. DSQ for and have been revoked? down in 9th. This is a complete joke right now.
  21. Katharina Althaus DSQ! This is getting silly. What a joke. can really win a medal now!
  22. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz also DSQ!
  23. Sara Takanashi DQ! That opens the door for a medal charge!
  24. Team Mixed has started. Should be a gold medal for
