  1. Team got enough training. They were in Netherlands for last 1 week compared to German woman team reaching 2 days before ranking rounds. Also world archery published a report where it is said Komalika Bari missed the target and she only shot the scores of 3 and 5. It was a shocking decision to include her in world's team instead of going with experienced Laxmirani Manji or youngster Ankita Bhagat who has done well.
  2. Maybe Thailand could get 1. Also Mongolia could qualify a mixed team from the Asian Games quota, as North Korea ' may reject' the quota citing poor medal chances just as they have done so many times. A no show at the world championship is just a indicator I believe.
  3. 25th Position in Qualifying by Abdullah Baki in 10m Air Rifle. However till date Siddikur Rahman in Golf was the only Bangladeshi Qualifier. Rest all were tripartite invitation.
  4. I read somewhere it was raining quite a lot when the women's pre quarters started. But everyone had the same condition.
  5. Mexico, Italy, United States and France are also not qualified so it won't be that easy. Also no team did as badly as India by cumulative scores in quarters. If Deepika wins tomorrow she will very likely win the Olympic quota individually.
  6. Wondering who were those 2 archers shooting 3 and 5,surely 1 among them missed.
  7. What if Australia win the mixed team in Pacific Games? The men's quota reallocated to Oceania or the World's?
  8. Indian archers are the best example of chokers. The Women were 4-0 up and needed a 10 in last shot to win against Russia in quarters in Rio 2016 , they shot 8 and Russia went on to win silver. Here the qualification scores were good but series of 43, 44,53,51 are horrible to even watch. Just like the missed shot on 1st arrow, Indian women will miss the tokyo ticket here. What a shame
  9. Shooting 3 and 5...thats it all over for India
  10. What a disastrous start by India missed the first arrow
  11. I think India vs Canada could be anyone's game
  12. India all set for first ever global handball championship with the IHF Emerging Nations Cup in Tbilisi. First time that we are participating in this. China, Cuba and Bulgaria are teams to watch out for. India are the 2nd lowest ranked side after Nigeria and will start against Azerbaijan in Group A clash followed by Great Britain the following day.
  13. With badminton on debue and athletics, swimming, weightlifting etc qualifying to go around 30 are expected to qualify. Last time 1 archer and 1 shooter qualified.
  14. India has qualified 9 athletes to Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Shooting - 5 Men's 10m Air Pistol (2M) Mixed 50m pistol (1W, combined with the above) Mixed 50m rifle prone (1M, 1W) Archery - 4M Compound Men - 2 Recurve Men - 2 The 10m Air Pistol is a strong event in paralympics too.
  15. Also suprised to see China reducing their team at the last moment. Was hoping Li would have a good lift in +87kg, pushing the 49kg women's lifter from China out of top 4.
  16. Sad to see no Indian at the world junior weightlifting championships 2019, not even Jeremy and Jhilli Dalabheera who could have got points for 2020 Tokyo.
  17. I think we would qualify 2 quotas in men's singles and at least 1 in Women's Singles, the second could depend on the draw. However if we qualify a team we can send 2 singles athletes per event. Men's team ranked 11, as of now will be top seeded in its part of 8 team draw in the qualifiers and could face team ranked 12 to 15 ( ex:England) and can qualify unless upsetted. Women's team is ranked 26th and is the 3rd best of 8 in whichever group they get at the qualifiers in Portugal . A group with Singapore can make things interesting. The chances of mixed doubles qualification are extremely bleak. Despite the 2018 highs Sharath has been in poor for. The Asiad bronze medallist were not even seeded in top 32 at world championship, and lost to a unfancied polish pairing in round of 64.However Sathiyan and Archana reached the round of 16 with upsets and lost to the Korean pair 4-1.The same Korean pair lost to the eventual champions by narrowest of margins and Xu Xin and liu shiwen only dropped 1 more game in semis and finals combined. Consistency is a problem for India.
  18. Maybe shotgun is open for a few qualifiers and could be anyone's game, not medal contenders though I still feel. 5-6 medals is realistic with both Saurabh and Manu having won golds in multi sport events, experience is there. Chandela hasn't won a gold in any multi sport and finished 4th in world championship 2018, it remains to be seen if its the good form now or inability to crack in pressure situations.
  19. If it's in intra gender quota exchange then nothing can be done. If we get an extra quota in women, and 50m3P is not having any quota then yes it can be given to them, else Shreyasi Singh is the only one else, though not a medal contender.
  20. Yeah but for India it's a formality. We are anyways going to make it by world rankings if I'm not wrong. Then also we have to wait until November for the final qualification.
  21. But I don't think there is a need to exchange it with 50m3P. In the women we are capable of getting at least 1 quota in Asian championships in 50m3P from Gaayatri or Sunnidi, Anjum is expected to be the 2nd. For the men's 50m3P by no means anyone deserves it, they have been awful throughout with 40th to 90th positions. Heena is not participating in 25m and she made it clear. Still if Chinki Yadav gets one in 25m, it would rather be given to Mairaj Sheik in skeet, provided sheraaj Sheikh qualifies through Asian championships.
