    [OFF TOPIC] General Chat

Hello Guys, I returned to the forum after a long-long absence. I usually come here for results of small tournaments (like Archery Oceanian championships) or when I don't understand a rule of a sport or a competition. And I love Totallympics song contest!

  2. Coincident is that I picked both songs But they quite differ in genre. "Nature" is more psychedelic and 1960s while "Handsome Boy" is much more funky, right in the middle of 1970s and Afrofunk/Afrobeat era which was quite developed and popular in west and central Africa. Ethiopia developed very specific genre on they own, so-called ethio-jazz later. Zambia for instance went much more in "rock" genre (Zambian rock from 1970s). I both presented during TISC Song festivals. And I actually like music from 1960s and 1970s very, very, very much. Also 1980s, especially early 1980s when post-punk peaked. So, no wonder I usually vote for or pick songs from those eras

  3. Well we will all cheer for Slovakia and then they perform well which in the end matters much more than which jersey they wear In 2048 you'll tell your grandchildren about the time everyone was mad about the jersey until they won the gold in it and half of Slovakia was wearing it on the streets, in another of Grandpa HCKosice's Stories of Long Ago

  5. Don’t like the sound of this. The rankings will give more points to certain events, but if the Diamond League (where certain athletes are invited, with many from the host countries) are given a high points weighting then that will corrupt the whole qualification system and seriously disadvantage athletes from smaller nations.

  7. But really, the only XC discipline that I care about these days is the interval start (ok, relays are fine too). Mass starts are so tedious, particulary skiathlons... I watched 30km interval start race from Lillehammer 1994 recently. That was just awesome.

  10. North Korea has not entered a team for the biggest event on this year’s weightlifting calendar – and has passed up a chance to register its greatest sporting triumph on American soil. North Korea was expected to finish top of the medals table in Anaheim as it had lifters ranked Number 1 in seven weight categories, after the removal of lifters from the nine nations which have been banned for a year for multiple doping offences - China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Turkey.

Ugh, some people just really failed the test of life. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/egypt-lawyer-rape-girls-revealing-clothing-ripped-jeans-nabih-al-wahsh-a8030831.html
