Skateboarding WS Dew Tour 2021

Recommended Posts

@Agger Danish Skateboarding Federation organized a national championship in 2021 on May 9th. Rune won the competition and changed that points from the tournament in 2019...

But he didn't qualify to semifinal today, and two guys behind him did it. Elias Nilsen :NOR and Andy Anderson :CAN (with the second position)... so it will very close for him.

I tried to calculate the possibilities for him. He will lose this quota if TWO of those things happens:

Jack Fardell :AUS gets the final

Jericho Francisco  :PHI gets the final

Hampus Winberg :SWE gets the final

Karl Berglind :SWE gets the final

Andy Anderson :CAN gets top 16

Elias Nilsen :NOR gets top 16

So if  my counts are correct, we have the qualified skateboarders for Women's Park

1-Misugu Okamoto :JPN

2-Sakura Yosozumi :JPN

3-Sky Brown :GBR

4-Poppy Starr Olsen :AUS

5-Lizzie Armanto :FIN

6-Dora Varella :BRA

7-Isadora Rodrigues :BRA

8-Bryce Wettstein :USA

9-Brighton Zeuner :USA

10- Yndiara Asp :BRA

11- Julia Benedetti :ESP

12-Jordyn Barratt :USA (She will compete on the final and even if she gets the last position, she will overtake Mina Stess who is qualifying right now)

13- Lilly Stoeephasius :GER

14- Xin Zhang :CHN

15- Madeleine Larcheron :FRA

16- Amelia Brodka :POL

17- Josefina Tapia Varas :CHI

18- Bombette Martin :GBR

19- Melissa Williams :RSA

There's still one quota to be defined at final, among Mami Tezuka, Kokona Hiraki and Kisa Nakamura from :JPN

It's important bear in mind that this ranking will close only on June 31st. So, all NOCs may still organize national events and add points to the ranking (If they haven't added two national championships yet). So, in this case.... Bombette and Josefina still can lose this spot till there, maybe Amelia has a little bit of chance, but I dont believe on that.

Why Bombette Martin? She had 4695 + 14th (980) in Dew Tour is a total 5675 points.

Shanae Collins had 5683 points.

Thanks for the update. Fingers crossed, but that's a lot of potential things that could ruin it! :(

Bombette Martin got 1470 points. 980 points is from a 5-star event. This is a Pro Tour event

Vicent Matheron for men's park

maybe Charlotte Hym for women's street, but it is hard for her

Aurelien Giraud and Vicent Milou for men's street are pratically confirmed

@Benolympique

10th place for Charlotte Hym at women's street. good result for her to get points to the Olympic Ranking.

She was benefited by abandoment of Japanese team, because their coach tested positive for covid

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
