Enna pa .. We have wind to blame for every sports.. Lets agree we cannot able to handle the pressure

Haha. Not every sport. Because the two sports we are good at, archery and shooting depends on lot of factors. We have only less medal hopes so become upset when they dont win and total pressure is on them. In other countries its not the same. We should develop multi sport culture thats the only way

Double digits was anyways not possible. For that we should have picked atleast 3 in shooting. Now none is sure. May be wrestling because we have a rechapage round.

Kirupa.. I would be happy if we get 2 medals (or Just 1) now ..but definitely our govt will wake up now ..

Somehow last olympics we got lucky medals in shooting from Vijay Kumar , Gagan narang was bit expected.... This time only jitu rai was prospect and he failed.... This is the result even in World shooting championship where India get mostly 1 or no medals... so expected but those who hardly follow shooting and expecting miracles will consider this as a failure...

But ur larger point is absolutely correct...Most nations that win several medals in shooting win world championships medals consistently....

Whereas in our case, one shooter wins a medal....without much consistency...

I guess this disappointment was bound to happen at some stage.....

Unless we start picking other world event medals consistently, the dream of picking up multiple medals in olympics would remain a distant dream....

That would be great but will our politicians allow it. They should bring in abinav and few others.

That...right there...that's the kind of knee-jerk over the top reactions that needs to end....

Yes, results are bad...yes lots of changes need to happen...

All the changes need to be well-plan and implemented over time.

officials and administrators manage things.......dont go and perform themselves....

we have our biggest contingent ever, something is definitely right......

Making sweeping changes would undo whatever has been done over the last 5-10 years

    • Lots of injuries, including often just pure bad-luck stuff like a fall from a set of stairs, illness, and of course the Sochi tragedy in 2014: one of her biathlon friends, young Julia Pieper, killed herself with a biathlon rifle early during the Olympics (she wasn't on the team, but was a training partner of both Preuss and Dahlmeier). Obviously a hard hit, which led to terrible Olympics for Preuss, with a DNF, awful results in her other individual races and a relay where she was the first runner for Germany, but fell early on, got snow in her rifle and broke a pole and ended up losing almost 3 minutes, which in turn resulted in Germany being off the podium for the first time ever.   After that came all the injuries and illness and everything. So glad to finally see her have her big individual global gold, that is so well deserved.
