My initial assessment regarding Badminton Draws:

WD: Gutta/Ponappa are in Group A along with top seed Japanese pair, Dutch pair and Thai pair. At present Gutta/Ponappa are lowest ranked among the 4 pairs. But, they have defeated Thai pair twice this year and have split 4 matches with Dutch pair 2-2 over the last two years. Of course, they have no chance against Japanese but they have a decent chance of winning the remaining 2 matches and reaching Semis. Dream draw.

MD: Attri/Reddy are in Group D along with 2nd seed Indonesian pair, Chinese pair and Japanese pair. All three pairs are in top 10. Don't expect them to win a single match (though they did defeat Chinese pair in the only past meeting, Chinese in Olympics are a different beast). Absolute worst draw.

WS: Saina should have no problem in reaching Round of 16. Sindhu has a tricky encounter in Group stage with Li Michelle but I am sure Sindhu would win. Round of 16 is pretty straightforward for Saina (vs Porntip). Sindhu has once again a more difficult match against Tai Tzu Ying. She trails Tai in H2H but,  among the top 8, after Hyun Ji Sung, I think Sindhu has maximum win chance against Tai, so no complaints. You can't have easy matches quarter onwards. If you want to win medal, you have to defeat the best, so of course in Quarter, Saina and Sindhu will face top players like Li and Yihan. If we didnt draw those two, we would have drawn Marin and Intanon. For, Saina it is bad as she has a mental block against Li but as I said, if she wants a medal, she needs to overcome it. No complaints. Considering depth of the field and our rankings, good draw.

MS: Srikanth should win his group easily. In Rd of 16, he faces Jorgensen. Without doubt a tough match. Jorgensen is a class player. But, like Sindhu, considering he is seeded 9th he could not expect an easy match. It could have been slightly better (Chou?) or much worse (Lin Dan, LCW or Chen Long). Final verdict: neutral

Question  is whether Narsingh will still be allowed to go to Rio.....His food was spiked, but he does have an anabolic steriod ...His punishment would be lesser than 2 years for sure...but Rio ?????

Narsingh has filed a complaint to WFI and said that a senior international wrestler, a female official at SAI and a coach is behind this

He would not be able to go but he can be cleared of all wrong doing, But ban would be a 6months to a year.
