A very spicy situation at the badminton trials.

Kiran George looks favourite for the final MS spot in Thomas Cup

For CWG :

Gayathri is having slight injury so suddenly WD is open and I think Shruthi / Crasto will be the favourites now

XD will be Ashwini /Sumeeth Reddy

WS is still open with Ashmita Chaliha having the edge over Kashyap. Great to see Unnati in the mix too.

Was watching a few matches of the trials, what a lovely crisp backhand Ashmita has, her shoulder power also seems improving, huge future ahead if she can stay fit and keep working on her shoulder strength. We have to be patient with for 1 or 2 years as she enters the big arena, frankly I haven't seen any Indian women with such brilliant technique ever.

Is Shruti Mishra an able partner for Tanisha Crasto. They have done well to reach the top four in WD.

Better than gayathri they can rotate back and front well. But Tanisha is making many errors hence they lost XD finals today despite Ishaan improving sooo much.

She's just 2 years younger than Yamaguchi and WS post 26/28 becomes harder. So need to be quick and improve on decreasing errors unlike today, really hate to see Akarshii winning the trials one of the worst players , who just plays long rallies and drop shots no jump smash no good defense.

Yes, she is raw kept hitting outside today with experience that will come down, she also tried a backhand smash today these things excite me about her atleast her coaches have given her the tools, the smash power has to go up I'm sure she will get opportunities now, Akarshi has no future nothing special in her game, anyway she won so should get chance.

No she needs to learn how to play badminton, it seems Tanisha and Jolly won't be partnered in that case the next best option is Tanisha and Ashwini.

I am little confused about the badminton team selected for Commonwealth Games. Is Ashwini Ponnappa only playing in Mixed Doubles. Are we making any temporary doubles pair like Kidambi-Sumeeth or Sindhu-Ashwini

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
