For real? I'm surprised Brazil has a better best ever result than Serbia then  (yeah, I know Serbia is not a winter sports powerhouse, but still...my knowledge of Serbian winter sports is rather limited it seems  )

Despite having Kopaonik, Zlatibor, Stara Planina and Tara (relatively high mountains), we're unable to devolop basic winter sports, due to 3 main reasons - media negligence, lack of funding and corruption in the national associations. Nevena's progress is the result of working with Slovenian team during the last couple of seasons.

Is Nevena's strong season (or at least her Olympic performance) getting at least a bit of media attention now or is it mostly ignored?

Yes, it's finally gaining some media attention thanks to Nevena's successes. But there's still a long way to go.
