Compound Qualification Round is over.

:DEN HANSEN finished first in men's individual event, while :MEX OCHOA does the same in women's

In men's team, the French obtained first position; however Mexican team failed to qualify to 1/8 eliminations  In women's team, the Republic of Korea archers finished ahead of hosts.

Finally in Mixed event, the Danes lead the qualifiers.

Wow, our men's team finished 4th in the team compound seeding.

Too bad that nobody cares about recurve here... And recurve is the cheaper discipline, among other things...

we have only 1 participant this time , the sport is vanishing in Egypt :( , actually many sports are struggling after floating currency that the government did last year , it really affected sport badly

:KOR  dominated women's recurve, securing first place in  individual and team events, plus the mixed event.

Hosts performed great and they have a good chance to fight for the medals in team later today

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
