Since almost everything is clear in the IIHF ranking (the only question remains if USA will earn bronze and thus overpass Finland in the 4th place of the ranking) we have already the version of the preliminary round group for the next years world championships in Slovakia.

*Slovakia will be 10th in the tomorrows IIHF Ranking and will be seeded in the group by the schema 2-3-6-7-10-11-14-15 so it form a group with Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Latvia, Austria and Italy.

**BUT according to the really strong rumors that SVK will play in Košice, the organizing committee has possibilties to make some swaps in order to protect it´s marketing priorities, so by this logic it´s almost certain Austria and Czech Republic should be moved to Bratislava (near to their respective national borders) and by this replaced in the SVK group by USA (or if the Americans took bronze today) by Finland in the place of the Czechs and France in the place of Austria.

***BUT there also another option and also quite realistic, to just swap SVK with Norway and just change the groups from Košice and Bratislava.

Groups for next year as it stands by the newest IIHF Ranking  (0% chance)

A: Canada, Finland, USA, Germany, Norway, Denmark, France, Great Britain

B: Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Austria, Italy.

But very likely the groups will be as follows (after the swap of CZE + AUT to Bratislava for FIN/USA + FRA to Košice - if the rumors about Košice being the home venue of the Slovak NT  the preliminary round)  (50% chance)

Košice: Russia, Sweden, Finland or USA, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, France, Italy

Bratislava: Canada, USA or Finland, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Great Britain.

or there another version posibility to just swap SVK to NOR so basically just swap the groups as they are from Bratislava and Košice:  (50% chance)

Bratislava: Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway, Latvia, Austria, Italy.

Košice: Canada, Finland, USA, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark, France, Great Britain
