8 Ukrainian girls applied for the sprint on Saturday.

But none are on the entry lists.

Huh, that's odd that there's such a difference between those lists.

I see Blashko has changed nationality, too bad.

Too good. For us. + her coach is not a stranger for our team  Also there was some bitching inside Belarusian team so I'm happy that they joined us after all. It will stir some competition inside our own team after the Olympics.

Jesus, I know that Sjusjoen is usually a very tough race and many teams participate in it, but wow, the field is world class this year :yikes:

Also, noticed one of the Claude brothers starting for Belgium :mumble:

Yes, he decided to switch a long time ago and made his debut for Belgium at the summer worlds this year after not competing at all in the previous season.

Is it giving up, because the French team is very strong?

He sees it as a way to easily make the Olympics and other competitions like that?

Or do the Claude family have at least some Belgian blood?

I think it's the same kind of move Rösch did: being realistic in seeing that the competition in your own country is just too strong and move to another country.

And I'm devastated to hear Bruna saw Laura Dahlmeier :hearts: during today's training in Sjusjoen but since she lost her phone this week (just two days after arriving in Europe, crap), she couldn't take a picture with Laura for me

But she can still beg Laura not to end her career after the Olympics.

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
