Men's Volleyball FIVB World Championship 2018

The draw is tomorrow. Apparently two teams will be placed in each group using a serpentine system based on the world ranking, with Italy in Pool A and Bulgaria in Pool D. So we should have:

 

POOL A (in Italy): Italy, Argentina

POOL B (in Bulgaria): Brazil, Canada

POOL C (in Italy): USA, Russia

POOL D (in Bulgaria): Bulgaria, Poland

 

and then a draw with

POT 3: Iran, France, Serbia, Japan

POT 4: Egypt, Belgium, Cuba, Australia

POT 5: Finland, China, Slovenia, Tunisia

POT 6: Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Cameroon, Dominican Republic

This system is so bad i don't know where to begin... The main flaw however is that it makes tomorrow's draw absolutely decisive for any team with pretentions to make the third round.

So the world champion will play 13 games in 20 days? I do not know if the FIVB believes that athletes are human. Anyway, I hope we face a difficult group this time.

Actually it's 12 games, one less than 2014.

I don't know how they will decide the 2nd round pools...probably 2 teams from pool A vs 2 teams from pool C in Italy and 2 teams from pool B vs 2 teams from pool D in Bulgaria, but which ones?
