Today, Mol/Sorum are european champions for a fourth year in a row and they are the first team ever to achieve that. After their olympic gold, they defended their title at the european championships. A 2-1 set win in the final over Boermans/de Groot secured them the gold medal. The final was a tight match, the dutch team needed seven set points to take the second set, but they couldn't complete the upset in the third set. Kantor/Losiak took bronze beating Brouwer/Meeuwsen.
