I dont want to take three weeks off work so I hope not

Exactly! As much as I want a 3 week Olympics, it makes managing work holidays a bit trickier :d

Don't Europeans get like 4-6 weeks off?

I get 5.5 weeks off but taking 3 weeks off at one time needs a bit of planning in terms of making sure my workload is covered. It’s possible as I took 3 weeks off last year but having 2 weeks off is always more manageable. Plus it leaves a nice bit of time to take other holidays throughout the year too :d

Just be a teacher like I am and it's no worries.

Also, as an American, it's bonkers that Europeans can ask for two weeks off. That concept just doesn't exist here...most jobs here have like two weeks off total. (I like the European model for sure! I think we could use a little more down time here...but that means an entire culture shift.)

Mine is different obviously, which is nice for the summer/Christmas...but for us in the school year, we can't ask for two consecutive days off without a serious conversation with the headmaster. We only have 7 paid days off during the school year (meaning, days when the students are there but we need to be gone for whatever reason).
