Tennis Qualification for Summer Olympic Games 2016

at Age 35 Federer will play in 3 events in a very dense olympic schedule? kind of doubtful..... if he makes it to third round singles and doubles semis then he will have to play 3 matches on the 10th!

His chances in doubles (mixed definitely) to win a medal are higher than in singles. And Doubles are definitely less demanding.

Well, that's what their NOC says. :d And they don't say "unter Vorbehalt" for him, so it's confirmed.

Martina and Roger are rumoured to pair up for Wimbledon, but nothing's been officially confirmed yet.

TSS should've announced Serbian team today, but they obviously didn't.

On the french swiss tennis website, they only talk about their "wish" to play together. It doesn't read as an hard confirmation that they will.

Cannot bother myself checking ranking - is Lajovic ranked high enough?

And is Djokovic/Zimonjic teams sure thing?

Well, Swiss NOC is more trusted site. They update their website with selection news every week.

He's ranked 80th, he can still make it, though.

Nope. Nothing's been confirmed yet.

Well, whichever doubles team TSS announce, huge luck will be needed for a team to win one match at least. Zimonjic past his peak long time ago, and honestly, Djokovic and doubles cannot be put in the same sentence :d

IKR?  But Novak seems to be quite keen on playing doubles in Rio.

I was not talking about an amateur blog post or something, but the official Swiss Tennis federation site. (It's the same text actually).

IMO, it's better to wait the official draw of the mixed double before reaching any conclusion.

    • I used to think Johnston(e) - from some place John build (aka stone for building something hehe).   I'm not familiar if Scottish or Irish clans are named after such clan founder or a place?
    • i'm triggered,legitimately thought kennedy 2.0 happened,just way more out of nowhere
    • Perfectly obvious.    Johnson = son of John Johnston or Johnstone = From St John's Town ie Perth in Scotland.
    • Nope. Azu missed out by 0.01. Bromell lost silver by 0.001!
