pjwasz 16 Posted February 8, 2018 #101 Share Posted February 8, 2018 (edited) Early Morning recap: Curling: Lost to Canada 6-4 Ski Jumping: All 4 Qualified(Top 50 of 57), Bickner highest at 25th. To answer some of your questions posed, Our ski jumping team is not going to medal. A top 20 would be fantastic. The Swiss are the only 2-0 team, while the Finns are the only 0-2 team in curling. Should be a good fight Nathan Chen will be in the Men's Short Program for the Team Event Moguls: Schild, Kauf, and McCargo have all had podiums in either of the last two World Cup seasons. The women's will be a good fight. Bradley Wilson will have a decent chance of medaling, but you can just hand the gold to Mikael Kingsbury of Canada now. He deserves it, to be honest. Qualifying for Moguls is Top 16.* Also, this is a neat thing that I found: https://www.pyeongchang2018.com/en/game-time/results/OWG2018/en/general/noc-schedule-united-states.htm It's not updated for every event yet, but I imagine it will be accurate within a day. * Edit: This is wrong. It's 30 in Q1, top 10 qual for F1. 20 in Q2, top 10 qual for F1. 20 in F1, top 12 to F2, top 6 in F2 to F3. F3 is the Super Final. pjwasz 16 Posted February 8, 2018 #102 Share Posted February 8, 2018 So 3 of our Ski Jumpers are from the Chicago area, very close to where I grew up. In other words, we picked 3 guys from the 2nd flattest state for ski jumping. Rdbc

wpwells 3 Posted February 9, 2018 Author #110 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Curling: We are certainly behind the eight-ball due to the Korea loss; however, with OAR and SUI still having matches today against CAN as well as a match against each other tomorrow, if we win our last three matches against NOR, CHN, and FIN, there’s a very good chance we could sneak into the semis. Biathlon: Susan Dunklee has an outside shot at a medal Cross-Country: Our women’s cross country team is actually fairly strong this year, particularly Jessie Diggins. I’ll be very surprised if she doesn’t come away with at least one medal, so she’s a medal threat in every cross-country event Short-track: JR Celski has a shot at a medal, though anything can happen in short track. Long-track: Schoutens is a medal favorite it could be a fun day for the USA with medal chances in 4/5 events plus a lot of intrigue in the curling tournament!
